I hope everyone had a great weekend. I know I did! We got a little snow here in PA.
I needed a little family time so I took a little drive to spend the weekend with my parents at the lake. My sister came with one of her daughters also! We had so much fun just hanging out!
My parents church had a fundraiser. They sold tickets to see the movie Frozen at a local theater called the Roxy Theater in Minerva, Ohio. It cost $5 a ticket and your ticket included the movie, popcorn, a drink and a coupon for a kids meal at McDonalds. What a deal!!! The current Miss Akron Canton, Emelia Sherin, attended as well as some characters in the movie. Below is myself and my niece Alyssa with Anna and Christof and their reindeer named Swen...
Another of the whole family. I made my sister (in pink) and Mom get int he second photo. They were less than thrilled! HA!
This picture of me is horrible; but I love that we also got a picture with the current Miss Akron Canton - Emelia Sherin! She was really sweet!!!
The benefit was a fundraiser for the the new hall that is being built for my parents church - it is to be called the Good Shepard Hall and should be opening this spring! Yippee!
This is my adorable niece eating her popcorn!! HA!
And sister and Mom...ha!
Here is a picture of the inside of the theater...it is a really cool old theater!!!
After the movie we all returned to my parents house where this began...
My family loves puzzing in the winter and on rainy days at the shore. I can do it for a while but I am too antsy to do it all day. So, after an hour of puzzling, my niece and myself did a little sledding!!!!
My parents and the neighbors have great hills at the lake that are perfect for a fast sled ride!!!
Soooo much fun!!!
HAHA!!!
After about an hour we were freezing so we returned indoors and had cocoa and played a new game my mother found called Yeti in my spaghetti! It was super fun!!
Here are the adults toasting with their wine...I think they just drank the whole time we rode the sleds...HA! Everyone was really happy by the time we got back inside ;-) HA!
I got a picture of this adorable, little woodpecker. I had to look him up!! He is a downy woodpecker! So cute!!! This was a female as it was lacking a red splotch on its head.
Little closer...
I love the amount of nature and beauty at the lake! It was a great weekend spending time with my family and chilling!!!
We went to church and out to lunch on Sunday. Then returned home to repeat Saturday! HA! The adults puzzled and my niece and I went sled riding again!! We missed my other niece and nephew but they had sporting games so they stayed home with their Dad.
How was your weekend? Did you get snow? When we the last time you played in the snow?
looks like a great weekend!!!
ReplyDeleteIt really was nice to hunker down with my parents at the lake! Always love my time spent with them! I hope you have a great week Margaret!!
DeleteThanks for commenting on my blog. Family time is the best!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely agree! Have a great week! Thanks for returning the favor and reading my blog!!!
DeleteWhat a fun weekend! That's awesome you get out and sled with your niece. I bet she loves it!!
ReplyDeleteIt was so much fun! I was worried about the old knees at first but decided to throw caution to the wind and have some fun! I was much slower walking back up to the top than she was but I could not let her sled alone! It was awesome!! HA! Have a great week Kaz!
DeleteWhat a great weekend. Looks like you all had a good time. I would love going to the movie and working the puzzle the best.
ReplyDeleteThe movie was really great Cathy! It has been a long time since I saw it last and I forgot a lot of parts! It was so fun with a room full of kids singing along too! Puzzling is not my favorite thing but I enjoy the family time! Have a great week!
DeleteNo snow here in Central Florida, but it is COLD for us!! I enjoy puzzles but can't have them in our house with three cats who think they have to help you with whatever you are doing. Disaster! Ha! My weekend recap is posted on my blog. Stay warm up there!
ReplyDeleteThanks Terri! I never thought about my parents cat bothering the puzzle pieces. He never seems to pay attention but all cats are different and it is great that your are so helpful with everything - HA! Stay warm!!!! I can't wait to venture your way in March when I will be staying with my parents in The Villages!!
DeleteOh, well, I'm freezing now looking at all that snow. We are predicted to get a little tonight but we shall see. It pretty much stops us dead in our tracks because we are not use to it. I'm with you, a little puzzle working goes a long ways with me. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteOh no - I hope the snow takes a detour for your sake! Here is PA we are used to it somewhat but still not a fan of winter AT ALL! HA! Have a great week Lea!
DeleteGlad you had a good time
ReplyDeleteThank you - it was a wonderful time spent with family! Have a great day!
DeleteWhat fun! We're boiling here, being the hottest place on the planet at the moment (I'm guessing thanks to Climate change - yay!). Been a year since I've seen snow, and that was in Switzerland!
ReplyDeleteDo you have a guest house I can hop in and work from for a few months?!?!? I still cannot figure out why I do not leave PA...ha! I guess fmaily is here...otherwise I would live in warm year round!! So jealous of your climate change! Have a great week Lydia!
DeleteWhat a great deal for the tickets! I just love live theater shows. We haven't had enough snow for sledding yet this year (weird when you live in New England!) but that's OK. I am totally content to hang out indoors with puzzles and books.
ReplyDeleteI think this global warming thing has warped everyone's weather! I complain about snow but this is the least amount we have ever had so far! Have a great week!
DeleteWe get no snow here. It was a beautiful weekend. Looks like you had a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a beautiful weekend! I know if I did not see snow I would miss it somewhat but I am over it this winter. I like it once and then want my heat back! HA! Have a great week!!! Hugs
DeleteWhat a great weekend with your family! I love the church fundraiser idea. So much better than selling stuff. Your pictures of the sledding had me smiling. My teenage BFF's parents had a lake cottage their family spent weekends at and I often got to tag along. Once when I was there in the winter we rode our sleds down the hill toward the lake and man, did they go fast! We'd been warned to stay off the ice because it might not be solid enough to hold us so on one run when it looked like we'd shoot right out onto it, we cut hard to the left and ended up against a power pole. Unfortunately, my leg ended up between the sled and the pole and I still have a nifty little scar on my shin to remember that ride by.
ReplyDeleteOh ouch Stacy!!!! That's a little scary! At my parents lake, a lot of people ice fish so they test the ice depth regularly. They put huts up and fish through a hole so as soon as we see the huts we know it is thick enough to walk on. We are chickens so we still don't walk across the frozen lake...we stayed near the edge! HA! I promised my niece we would walk to the huts next time we are there.
DeleteYeti In The Spaghetti.
ReplyDeleteI am holding out for the Sasquatch version.

DeleteWinter does not stop you from getting things done and going places. Good for you.
ReplyDeleteMost of the time it does not but not always! HA! I hope you have a great week Tabor!!!
DeleteOh this just looks like the most cozy and fun weekend ever!! Love it!!
ReplyDeleteHi Jill! Thanks for stopping by and commenting! It really was a great weekend - way better than if I had stayed home and hunkered down alone! HA! Have a great week!
DeleteThat looks like a lot of fun! I'd be in with the puzzle people though lol
ReplyDeleteLOL! I seem to be the only oddball that does not enjoy puzzling~HA!
DeleteHopefully you guys are thawing out! Thanks so much for stopping by and linking up with Throwback Thursday!!
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by and hosting Shelly! We got another dose fo snow but maybe Spring is coming soon?!?!?! Have a lovely day!
DeleteLooks like a fun and cozy family weekend. I love big puzzles but my cat will not let me do them. She lays in the middle of them, pushes the pieces one by one onto the floor, rolls around on her back, pops back up every time you put her back ... you get the picture. I found a puzzle app on line and have to be satisfied with that!
