Haha!!!
He was recently diagnosed with diabetes but he’s a champ getting his shots twice a day. I have to give him three units in the morning and three units at night. He appears to be gaining weight and getting better slowly.
Anytime he wants to chill with me he’s welcome!
I never realized that felines could have the same afflictions as humans, but glad to read that Nermie is doing better. He looks like a sweetie and nice that he keeps you company too.
ReplyDeleteHe is a super affectionate cat. It has been my experience that the boys are much more snuggly than the girl felines. That may not be the case for everyone but all my boys have been super snuggly! He is doing really well and I think getting better slowly! HUGS
DeleteHe's a handsome one too. I'm glad he's doing well with his shots. Taking care of our babies is a good thing.
ReplyDeleteThank you for joining the Feline Friday Blog Hop.
Have a purrfect Feline Friday and weekend. ♥
Thanks Sandee! Yes, is is definitely a huge priority for me! He brings me so much joy every day! HUGS
DeleteHello. I am a first time visitor, but will be back again. I am now following your blog. Thanks for visiting and following my blog. I am always up for making new blogging friends. I love the picture of your kitty helping you "read" blogs. We are "cat people" over here too, but haven't had one for several years because it is so darn hard when they pass on. I love that you are studying to be a nurse. In our society today, we need excellent, compassionate people in health care. Hope you have a good weekend. :-)
ReplyDeleteHello Deb! Welcome to my blog!! Thanks for the kind words about nursing. I totally understand having a hard time after a pet passes away. This diabetic diagnosis really threw me for a loop but I am hoping this can be turned around and he can stay happy and healthy. Time will tell! Have a great week - sending so many hugs!
DeleteHe is beautiful, and I am so glad that he responds well to his shots. Jazz has pills twice a day and sometimes objects strenously. I bleed those days. And he still has his tablets.
ReplyDeleteYes tablets are ten times harder than the shot. I just grab the scruff of his neck and pop a tiny needle in. He does not feel it much but lately he gives a little squeal like he is over it. But if it gets him better - it is way easier than trying to give a pill. I bleed putting him into the cat carrier now though - lol! I do not look forward to vet trips! HA
DeleteToo bad on the diabetes.
ReplyDeleteYes Christine - it has been a bummer. We are hoping that since he is soo young (only 6) we can turn it around over time. Fingers crossed - he is such a sweetheart! Have a great weekend!
DeleteWaving to Nermie...aww on the diabetes.
ReplyDeleteHe is waving back Linda! HUGS
DeleteSuch a cutie! My Tina likes to walk on the keyboard and mess things up!
ReplyDeleteOh yes Julie!!! Nermie does that too!!! This is a photo after he walked on the keyboard and then laid right across it! I had to shift the keyboard to the left so I could access it!!! HA HA! Hugs
DeleteYou two are what friendship is all about!
ReplyDeleteWe definitely are! Actually me and all my fur babies! They truly are my kids! HAHA! Have a great weekend!
DeleteHe is beautiful and looks comfy, my friend Marge has a cat with diabetes and has been giving shots for years and years. Glad Nermie doesn't mind them. feel better soon
ReplyDeleteThank you for the kind words and wishes. He is doing well so far ... fingers crossed it continues! It is hard when a pet is sick or suffering. HUGS
DeleteI am glad he is doing well with his shots. You are lucky to have any room for the mouse. I often had to use my leg as a mouse pad as my two would take up the whole desk.
ReplyDeleteLOL - that is so funny that you say that!!! If he was not resting, he would be swatting my hand with his claws and I would then have to move the mouse to my leg! LOL! I guess they are all little pests at times - ha! HUGS
DeleteAloha from Hawaii!!! Nice to meet you. I am glad that you are a nursing student. We need more of them in Hawaii. Take care of that cat. He is so cute.
ReplyDeleteAloha Gigi!!! I spent 2 weeks visiting a friend that lives in Poipu Kauai about three years ago. I loved every moment of that trip!!! You are all blessed protectors of one of the most spectacular places on the planet! Thank you for the kind words! If my family was not near me here and we were not so close; I may consider moving to Hawaii to work!!! But alas, I would miss family way too much! Sending so many hugs!!! Stay safe!
DeleteSweet baby!!!
ReplyDeleteYes Terri - he really is a sweetheart! HUGS!!
DeleteWhat a handsome boy!
ReplyDeleteThank you Kathy!!! I think so too! Have a great weekend!
DeleteNermie is a cutie. Glad to hear he doesn't mind his shots.
ReplyDeleteYes Ann - I was so happy to realize that shots are the easiest thing to do for a cat...pills, not that's a whole different ballgame! HA! Happy weekend!!! HUGS
DeleteVery cute.
ReplyDeleteThank you Patrick! Have a great day!
