Weekend Recap

Happy Monday! I hope you all enjoyed your weekends!

What a wonderful and relaxing weekend it was for me ya'll!!!

I went nowhere outside of my little town! I live in PA and right now we have flooding everywhere! The rain is never ending! UGH! I actually enjoyed a low key weekend of watching rain and staying in town!!

Friday night I met up with a group of friends at my home group. It is always nice seeing everyone and catching up! Then I stopped by another friends house (the one that had the stroke) to say hello (he lives 5 minutes from me) and then home and off to bed EARLY!

Saturday was my Mommy's birthday!!!! She will probably kill me for saying this but she turned 75!! I only hope and pray that I look half as young and healthy as she does at 75!!! We celebrated last weekend when I was with her at the lake but I made sure to call and sing!! She is the world's best mother!!! I love you Mom and can not wait for our trip together next week!!!

Saturday morning I picked up my friend that had the stroke and we went to breakfast and hung out half the day. I then went home for a while to work on Beach Glass Art (I sold my Christmas Tree already) and wanted to make another for a replacement on my Etsy site. I like the second one just as much!! The listing for the one below is HERE.

Saturday night I went back to pick up my friend (he is unable to drive due to his stroke) and he took me to dinner and a movie. We ate a TGIFridays and then went to see Crazy Rich Asians. It was good but I have to say, I enjoyed the book a lot more than the movie!

That happens every time for me though. When something was a book first then a movie; the book is always way better. Again, the movie was funny and good but not nearly as good as I expected. The comedy almost seemed too forced at times.  But, all in all, it was a great night and just nice to spend time together before I leave for vacation next week!

Sunday was a chill morning and again I went over to pick up my friend and he bought breakfast again and we watched some of the Steelers game together.  We tied the Browns (What?!?!?!? UGH!!! DISAPPOINTING). I spent a chill Sunday night in the condo snuggling my kitties and preparing to go to work in the morning (I have to psych myself up - lol!!! Just kidding!!!).

So, all in all, it was a nice chill weekend!!! I hope everyone enjoyed theirs as well!!!! HAPPY MONDAY guys!! I can not wait to go read about everyone else's weekends now!!!

Do you enjoy time at home or traveling? Any crafts you do in your spare time? How is your weather...is PA the only state getting drenched??

  1. Happy Birthday to your Mom! Love the beach glass art! We loved Crazy Rich Asians. I haven't read the book. Sorry about all the rain. I have to say I enjoy both being at home and traveling. We were 101 degrees yesterday which is unusual for us. I don't do any crafts but I use to years ago.

    1. Maybe I saw too many previews but I was just expecting it to be way funnier...probably just me! I would love 101 at this point - wanna trade?!?!? We are at 61 along with the pounding rain for two days now! UGH! Have a great day Debby!

  3. I agree with you about the books being better than the movies! Totally true! We had a lazy weekend, which I replayed in my blog today. Your mom looks fabulous (and so do you)!

  4. I'm so sorry to her about the flooding! We've had it quite badly too here in previous years in Cumbria. I hope no-one ahs been affected too badly? I LOVE your beach glass Christmas tree - you are so creative! We get it here on the beach and I always pick it up - but it would be lovely to be as artistic as you with it! So glad to have found your blog! Joanne x

    1. I am jealous that you live so close to the beach! That is my dream home-anywhere near water! :-)
You can use your glass and copy my designs anytime! It is really easy if you have a glue gun! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

  5. Sounds like a really nice weekend. I love book and movie tie-ins! The book is usually more detailed, but it's always interesting to see how they interpret the visuals in the movie..

  7. Happy Birthday to your mom! She does look great for 75, I won't tell her you told us! Your beach glass is pretty. I've thought of starting an Etsy shop, but it keeps getting pushed to the back burner.
Sounds like a nice weekend - a little getting out and about, a little staying at home.

    1. If you craft and sell things you should definitely start a shop! It is really easy to do and I would be happy to advise if you run into an issue. It's free to start and you pay $0.20 per listing and a small percentage fee for each thing sold. I have had mine for about 10 years now I think. Good luck!

  8. Hi Ann. I love busy weekends, too. We spent Saturday with family and in-laws at a museum where Tom and I are on the board of directors, then out for drinks and appetizers at a restaurant we've never been. Sunday was nothing in the AM and Pats game in the afternoon. This weekend we have nothing planned, but the Pats game will be Sunday at 4:30 - I prefer the weekends with lots of plans.

    1. WOW! You are not kidding about being Barb! That sounds like a jam packed weekend!!! But it all sounds like awesome stuff!!! How exciting to be on the board of Directors for a museum!! Although I am a Steelers fan so we will have to differ on watching or rooting for the Patriots... ;-) But I do hope you have a great weekend!! Thanks for stopping by!!! Hugs
