We got all the boats in and mother nature cooperated (it got pretty hot) and summer began!!!
Here are a couple of the girls on the paddle-board!
I love the boys faces and expressions in this picture...Ryan caught a really big bass and even surprised himself...HA! Brody is so amazed he is holding his head!!! Too funny!
Brody with one of his many fish...
The girls having fun on the floating mat!
A little paddle-board trip around the lake...
My "little brother" with his fish...he looks proud, hugh? LOL!
And my Dad with his...
The kids had a great time playing in the lake - it was the perfect start to summer!
That night we sang Happy Birthday to all the May birthdays...me included! Yippee! And enjoyed this delicious ice cream cake!
After cake it was off to start the first campfire of the summer...my favorite :-)
It was a fantastic start to the summer and a wonderful start to the Memorial Day weekend!
Do you enjoy fishing? What signifies the start of summer to you? Do you make and eat s-mores??
Hugs to everyone!!!
What a fun family time! I love that yall celebrate the birthdays for the month. That makes it much easier in a big family!!
ReplyDeleteWhat makes it even easier is that the holiday falls in May too! We all go to the lake to start summer on Memorial weekend so it all works out perfectly! Thanks Nana...I love them tons! I am very blessed! HUGS
DeleteNothing better than a lake vacation!!
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a great one.
Thank you Margaret! Yes, it was a fantastic weekend - we love holidays at the lake! HUGS-have a great day!
Deletelovely lake and place to vacation. that floating pad is amazing. I showed it to my hubby. he is always talking about how he used to swim to the floating deck in the lake. this way you can make your own..
ReplyDeleteOh yes Sandra - the floating pad is a big hit! Almost every house on the lake has one now - we saw them a few years ago at neighbors and priced them and they are pretty reasonable for something that the kids love that much and lasts forever!
DeleteWow, picture perfect kickoff to summer! I love the pic of Ryan and Brody- talk about capturing all the feels!
ReplyDeleteLOL - right Abby!?! I loved their faces so much! Have a fantastic week!
DeleteThat looks like you had so much fun! Great way to start the summer. I hope you have many more days at the lake!
ReplyDeleteAwwww.thank you Cathy! It is always a good time when we visit my parents! I hope you have a fantastic summer also!!!
DeleteLooks like everyone had a great time. I love the expressions on the boys faces. That floating mat is pretty awesome too.
ReplyDeleteThe mat is our latest addition...I think we have had that for two years and the kids love it! It is a blast for King of the Mountain! HA! Have a great week Debby!
DeleteWhat a fabulous weekend you had! It looked like everyone had a good time. Yum, ice cream cake! I do like to fish, but if they aren't biting I lose interest quickly. When I was still working, the last day of school signaled the start of summer.
ReplyDeleteWe always have a great time at the lake! I fish a little but more than anything; I am the aunt that puts the worm on the hook - HA! They do not like that part - they are afraid they are hurting the worm...I guess that is a good thing!!!
DeleteI used to love to go deep-sea fishing; but nothing for fresh-water … much to my hubby's dismay. That pix of Ryan and Brody is precious … what perfect timing on the shutter!
ReplyDeleteI only went deep sea fishing once and I loved it but my family did not...HA! Needless to say; I have not gone since. Have a fantastic week!
DeleteLooks like everyone had a really great time. Great start to the summer
ReplyDeleteYes we really did Ann - but then again, we always do. We can get on each others nerves but at the end of the day - we love to hang out together! Have a great week!
DeleteHow fun! You gotta love a holiday weekend on the water.
ReplyDeleteThat fish catch reaction... the best!
Right Rebecca JO?!?! The fish looks little in the picture but it was a good two feet!! Biggest one he ever caught!
DeleteI grew up in a fishing family but never caught the 'bug'. I do, however, know how to filet a fish, fry it up and eat it!! A little Old Bay Seasoning... yum! Looks like you all had loads of fun!
ReplyDeleteWOW! Go you! I have no clue how to filet a fish! We are all about catch and release...I am not sure I want to know my food when it is alive - LOL! Very impressive survival skills you have! Have a great week Terri!
DeleteWhat a great lake and weekend. I haven't fished for many years. I like the idea of it, but I would get bored.
ReplyDeleteIt is definitely boring and dirty and stinky! HA! The kids love every second of it! I just enjoy seeing them have fun...LOL! Have a fantastic day Andrew!
DeleteVery nice. Looks like a fun summer.
ReplyDeleteMeant looks a fun start to the fun of summer.
DeleteLOL Patrick!! It is definitely going to be an amazing summer if last weekend is an indication! Have a fantastic week!
DeleteThat looks like a good start to the summer. We are continuing are up down theme with the temperatures over here. One week they are up and it feels like summer. Next week they are down and it feels like autumn! A bit maddening.
ReplyDeleteLOL! Mara we have the same thing here in PA and OH! Yesterday it was 85 and today it is 65 - HA!
DeleteGlad you enjoyed
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! I hope you have a fantastic week! HUGS
