I know...I know...my blog title may be deceiving since it is not Monday but I am re-capping a day late (HA! But, not a dollar short).
Here is where I parked my car...ad yes, it is the airport! After that crazy busy weekend of no sleep, off I flew to Kansas for work.
We have a conference there and I am actually so excited to be heading back after living and working there for three months last year.
Fingers crossed I can get time to head back to the office and visit all my favorite people in BI, Customer Service and Credit!
We arrived around 5PM and checked into our hotel amid a huge storm! Apparently we will have storms and tornado warnings all week!!! WHAT?! Yes, crazy weather here!!
We went out to eat for.....yes, of course in Kansas....BBQ!!! We ate at Q39!
This place is in Overland Park, Kansas and it was SO DELICIOUS! Read more about it HERE! I got the brisket and burnt ends - it was melt in your mouth amazing!
I was in HEAVEN - such great BBQ! If you are ever in the area - definitely try this place!! Every seat was filled all night even though it was storming horribly!!
I hope everyone has a great week!! Now I am off to bed to get some rest in my big, fluffy Hilton bed before this week of workshops begins. PS-I am digging the fact that the toiletries in my room are Crabtree Evelyn...my favorite!
Anyone else collect hotel toiletries? Anyone have a favorite hotel chain? What are you up to today?
I bring home the toiletries for future travel and for use in my guest room bath. Love BBQ and that plate looks delicious. I am impressed you remembered to take a photo.
ReplyDeleteBelieve me - it was tough not to just dig in but I was with two others that also took pictures of theirs - HA! What a perfect use for the toiletries!! Great idea! Have a great week Tabor!
Deletewhat is better than burnt ends? Lucky you!!
ReplyDeleteNothing is better than burnt ends Margaret! They were amazing! And this cauliflower appetizer was to die for!!! So yummy!!! Have a great day!!!! Hope you are feeling better every day - HUGS!

DeleteSounds like a good week in spite of all the working Ann!! That brisket looks amazing.
ReplyDeleteIt is always good to get away and explore...at least I think so! The food was fantastic! Have a great day and thanks for reading Nana!!! HUGS
DeleteThat brisket looks ah-mazing! I could probably live on good BBQ the rest of my life! Stay safe!
ReplyDeleteI thought I could too but after two days and eating is for lunch and dinner...I am ready for a change! HA! It is delish though! HUGS!!!
DeleteI used to take the little soaps from hotel rooms, never the shampoo and such, just the soaps. Still using them up right now!
ReplyDeleteThat is what I do too...I have not bought soap since high school! HA HA! Have a great day Mara!
DeleteBBQ isn't usually something I like to eat when I'm out, but that looks AMAZING! I'd probably break my rule for that. Have a great trip and be safe. I hope the storms go all around you...or better yet, don't form at all!
ReplyDeleteSo far so good on the storms avoiding me. We are staying in the same hotel that the conference is in so it is nice not to have to leave the building in the storms....hopefully we can one nice day though!!! Have a great week Stacy!! HUGS
DeleteMost of the BBQ near me is St Louis-style. In the words of my Chinese friend, "I don't know who this St Louis person is but he is my new boyfriend."
ReplyDeleteP.S. Crabtree & Evelyn Vetiver!!! Sadly discontinued.
They discontinued my favorite too...it was called cottage something! Why do they do that?!?! LOL about the boyfriend comment - I would marry someone for BBQ skills definitely! YUM! Have a great week!
DeleteIt looks yummy
ReplyDeleteIt really was Ann! Have a great week!
DeleteI am allergic to scents so I generally don't take or use the little soaps, unless they happen to be vanilla, which is about the only scent I tolerate. Thanks for stopping by Blue Country Magic.
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by and commenting! Have a fantastic week - HUGS!
DeleteYou have been busy with the marathon and then a work trip. Restful weekend coming up?
ReplyDeleteNope! HA! Driving to Columbus for a Pink concert and then to Mom's house for Mothers Day and then home to fly out to Whippany, NJ for next week! HA! Little travel for the next few weeks! Have a great week Andrew!
DeleteVery nice. I always that Gates BBQ was the best in KC. Guess I am wrong.
ReplyDeleteOh no - Gates is amazing too! People that are from here probably do not agree but I think it is a tie! Gates is good, but so is Joe's, Jack Stack and Q39! It is all melt in your mouth amazing! Have a great day Patrick!
DeleteWhat a beautifully arranged plate of BBQ!
ReplyDeleteRight KathyIt was so pretty but not hard to devour at all! HA! Have a great week!
