I had a fantastic weekend and I hope everyone else did also!!!
The weekend started off with meeting up wiht a great friend of mine John.
We have been friends for years and we make sure to get together for our birthdays every year.
I took this picture since I was teasing him about his CLAM-SHELL phone! Yes, you read that right, he still has a clam-shell phone! He will not cave and get a smart phone! HA HA!
After getting home from spending time with John; I took out my trash to our condo dumpster area...this is what greeted me! Ahhhh! Scared the crap out of me actually!!! WOW! He popped right out of the dumpster and just hing there waiting for me to leave! HA! What a cutie...but definitely scary!
Saturday morning I planted my flowers and herbs for the year. Remember that plant that was aphid infected? I returned them to Costso and they gave me a full refund. I ran to a local grower near my home and bought all of these...first a new Mandaville...
And a clematis...
This is got before; it is the one with the baby birds in it...
This is curley parsley, oregano and thai basil...
Regular basil...
My mint ...delicious!!!
Catnip (of course)...
and my fuscia from before...
After planting was finished; I went up to my parents house for the weekend.
Every Memorial Day (after we honor the fallen) we celebrate all the family birthdays in May and put in all the lake toys for summer!!! Which means it is time for lake fun to start!
That post will follow soon!!!
Hugs everyone!
I have a large herb bed and I think this fall is the year I dig it all up and put it into lawn and grow herbs in pots!!!
ReplyDeleteThe herbs do so well in pots and they are so handy right out the sliding glass door!! In about a month; everything I make will have fresh herbs - YUM!!!!
DeleteYour plants look great. Glad you were given a full refund on the aphid infected items. It looks like you had a good meet up with your friend based on his smiling face. Enjoy the coming week!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Robin! John and I just constantly rib at each other and laugh every time we are together! I hope you have a fantastic week also!
DeleteLove the flowers and that was the right thing for Costco to do. Good.
ReplyDeleteI love your husbands phone. I've not seen one of those in years.
I'm glad you had a great weekend.
Have a fabulous day. ♥
Yes, Costco was so good about it! I am still surprised that no one else brought any back though! I hope you have a fantastic week! HUGS to you!~
DeleteRaccoons...so cute and yet so destructive sometimes. I would have jumped too.
ReplyDeleteLOL! Yes, this one was way cute...I have encountered some though that may have been rabid - they growled and lurched at me so this guy goes into the category of friend on disposition alone!!! HA! Although - I will never try to pet one! LOL
DeleteYour friend looks happy and I wish I had kept mine. I only use it for emergency calls. my husband refuses to carry any phone at all. we have a family of raccoons that are destroying our fences. we tried to have them moved out east to the forest, did not work out.Your deck is beautiful and I like all your plants and flowers. yay for a fun day at the lake
ReplyDeleteOh no Sandra!!! I have heard they can be awful and I have encountered a few that were WAY less than friendly. Fingers crossed your situation gets resolved :-(
DeleteNice weekend! Good ol' Clamshell John!
ReplyDeleteYou have quite a green thumb, what beautiful shots of spring.
That raccoon would've probably freaked me out as it's rare to see on in daytime - and also a sign of rabies. Be careful!
Oh yes Abby - I know. I never get anywhere close as rabies is always at the front of my mind! UG! Scared the crap out of him too when I opened the dumpster...I think they get in there and lose all track of time - HA HA! Great nickname - I may call him clamshell from now on! ha!
DeleteThose herbs smell (and taste) so good! Your garden looks great! Looking forward to our lake fun post!
ReplyDeleteThank you Terri! I love fresh basil in the summer time!!! Just basil and tomatoes and I am in heaven; add mozzarella and balsamic glaze and I am down for the count! HA!
DeleteMy sister had to finally cave when her clam shell crashed. That raccoon would have scared me too. The plants look lovely.
ReplyDeleteThank you Debby! I guess it is just like all of us...change is never easy and some deal with it sooner than others - HA! Have a great day! HUGS
DeleteMy dad loved those flip phones... he was mad when my brother made him go to an iphone - haha
ReplyDeleteLOL! It is really funny to watch John try to text on the flip!! It takes him forever to type in "hello" LOL!!!! Definitely not efficient!
DeleteSounds like a successful Memorial Day, Ann. And Yes, we have a few friends who still have the old fashioned phones. They might be on to something LOL
ReplyDeleteLOL Nana! I hope your Memorial Day was just as successful!! HUGS
DeleteSounds like you had a great weekend! Your plants look good. I'm glad you got a refund on the buggy ones. I had to work the whole weekend, but we did get our garden plants and some flowers on Saturday and planted them Sunday. Hope the storms are missing you today!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you got your planting done also Stacy! Flowers and plants make everything better! Hope you get a day off soon!!!! We had a little here in PA but nothing like they got in KC - UGH! Have a great day! HUGS
DeleteGreat work on all the plants! Love fresh herbs!
ReplyDeleteOh me too Lydia!!! It is the thing I miss most when summer and fall are over - fresh herbs!!!
DeleteYour flowers and herbs are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteStorming up here today!
Thank so much Billie Jo! Stay safe!!!! I heard KC got hit really hard - hope you are safe and sound!!! And Dry!!! HUGS
DeleteGood job on getting all the planting done. That racoon would have scared the crap out of me too
ReplyDeleteLOL Ann! Thank goodness no one saw me - I was probably a laugh riot as I jumped really high!! HA HA! Have a terrific day! HUGS
DeleteLook at that raccoon!!
ReplyDeleteRight Tamar?!?! He was super cute but also a little scary...I wanted to grab him and cuddle him but then decided not too - HA!
DeleteI was going to ask if it was a raccoon and it seems it is. The fuchsia hanging basket is terrific. People with old phones are as stubborn about upgrading to a smart phone as people were about getting a mobile phone in the first place.
ReplyDeleteExactly Andrew...until they realize how much it will make their life more efficient and easier! It is a racoon...he was super cute! Have a great day!
DeleteYour summers on the lake always look like so much fun!
