Medley Time!!

It is Wednesday and that means it is Medley Day!

On Wednesday's I join Terri and answer the awesome questions she came up with for that week!! You can join in too! Just copy the questions, answer them and link up on Terri's post!!! Here we go!!

What is your claim to fame?  I was a member of the world famous Modernettes!  If you are a twirler you know who they are. We competed every year at Notre Dame University for Grand World Champion Twirling Corps and we won every year! We were unbeatable!! It was awesome! It really gave me a lot of opportunities throughout my school years! We twirled on a cruise ship once (got a free cruise to Bahamas) and sang on stage with Bobby Vinton!!!

What is something you like to do the old-fashioned way?  I have to go with Terri's answer here!!! I like a good old-fashioned Thanksgiving celebration with turkey and all the traditional trimmings - and all the time possible spent with my nieces, nephews, siblings, their spouses and my parents!!! No matter how chaotic - that is heaven for me!!!

What did you think you would grow out of but haven’t?  Eating candy! I love candy! I love any and all candy - I soooo wish I didn't!!! UGH!

What is the dumbest thing you’ve done that actually turned out pretty well?  Choosing to do my own flooring! My parents both said I should not try it myself and, with their help, it has actually turned out amazing!

If you had to change your name, what would you change it to?  When I was in middle school I hated my name! It was so short and boring ...Ann.  So I changed it to Anne. Get it? I added a silent e?!?! HA! Crazy right?!?! Oh well, today I would not change it for the world...I love my name! Funny thing to note: if you look closely at the photo above from the Modernettes, my jacket has Anne (Ann with an e) on it!!! LOL!

What is something random you can tell us about this week?  It looks like I have the chance to be an ambassador for a weight loss program...I am really excited! I will give you all the details once I get them! Here's to hoping that this finally gets my weight going in the right direction!

Hugs to all! Thanks again to Terri for another week of awesome questions!!!

Have a great day!

  3. What FUN you girls had! Man, I used to love Bobby Vinton!

I can't wait to learn more about this weight-loss adventure. Guessing Nutri-System? There are a couple gals here in the 'neighborhood' who've had great success. I don't always follow Lisa's blog, but understand she was/is an ambassador for them: http://www.lifeawayfromtheofficechair.com/. (There's a link to her 'journey' on her header.)

    1. Awesome! So you do with a flag what we did with batons - very cool! My Grandmother told me I was named after Anne of Green Gables and when I asked my Mom; she looked at me like I had two heads so maybe my Grandmother just liked that book - LOL!

  5. You had me a "Ambassador". I am currently a Nutrisystem Ambassador. This takes me to the "Claim of Fame". I am also one of their success stories. You may see me in some of their photos and commercials. Now I am interested to know which weight loss program you use!

  11. I am not a huge fan of turkey, but I love everything else about a classic Thanksgiving dinner! Sadly, I don't live near family so Hubster and I just usually go to a restaurant. this year though my parents are coming and we're doing the big meal! #DreamTeam

    1. Hi Heather thanks so much for coming by! That is so awesome that you and your husband are going to cook the big meal this year! I look forward to hearing how that turns out… Watch how much butter you put under the turkey skin or you may have a oven fire like me and my sister did-lol! The turkey did turn out amazing that year though… Good luck can't wait to hear about it! Have a great weekend!

  12. That is so great that you had such a wonderful opportunity to twirl with an award winning team! I took baton lessons and when I told my band director I wanted to try out for majorette, he told me no. He didn't need a 6-foot majorette, he needed a 6-foot trumpet player. Ha. It was okay. Thanks for joining in today!! Loved your answers!

    1. Hi Teri! Well that kind of stinks that how tall you are matters in what part you play in the band… We had tall twirlers I think! They actually make it look even prettier with those long arms and legs! I hope you guys have a great weekend!

  13. You are just full of amazing things today, Ann a/k/a Anne! Twirlers always have very nice legs! Your floors are just beautiful and I am so impressed. That weight thing sounds good. Look forward to hearing more about that.

  14. Wow to sharing a stage with Bobby Vinton! My mom loved him and I've been on a kick of playing his music for the dementia residents at the home lately.
I would love an old-fashioned family Thanksgiving, but I'm an only child and my cousins are flung far and wide. My husband's family is huge, but he isn't terribly close to them. Oh well, at least I have great memories of how it used to be and can continue to enjoy the new traditions.
Congrats on being a weight loss embassador! I hope it all works out the way you want it to.

    1. Hi Stacy! New traditions are just as awesome! Every year my family adds more and more and I think the kids get excited just knowing what's coming that year! I am sure the residents of the home love Bobby Vinton's music… It's a timeless classic! Those residents are so blessed to have you… The work you do actually qualifies you for sainthood! I am so impressed with people that do you're kind of work! Have a great weekend!
