Wednesday Medley

Happy Wednesday Medley everyone!!!

Today, just like every Wednesday, I am joining Terri for her Wednesday Medley! Yay!

Did you know today is National Sibling Day?!?!? Head on over to Terri's blog to join in on the fun and read more details about this awesome day!

1.  How many siblings do you have? Are you rivals or do you support each other in all you do? I have two sisters and one brother. We are definitely very supportive of each other! We are tight - maybe too tight! LOL! But we would feverishly defend each other to the end! They have ALWAYS had my back and I hope they feel the same!!! Here we all are when we went on a family zip-lining trip in 2013! SOOOOOOO FUN!

2.  Have you heard of the Birth Order Book?  What are your thoughts on the premise that your birth order affects everything you do in life? I don't think it affects EVERYTHING but I agree it affects the family dynamic! We all fit right into our roles and that is all I will say on that! I am positively a middle child! LOL!

3.  Is there something that you still do that drives your siblings crazy?  I am very spontaneous and flighty and they are ALL very calculated and have SERIOUS engineer brains and type A personalities! I got my mother's personality and my siblings have my father's. HA!

4.  Are you closer to your siblings now than you were when you were younger?  I definitely think so! When we were younger we got along most of the time but now we really support each other.

5.  Would you dare to tell us an embarrassing story about a sibling?  No, I don't have any! But I promise if you ever meet any one of them they will definitely share any of mine - there are a lot! My sister tells my nieces and nephew that "Aunt Annie does not always make good choices" - LOL!  I am perfectly fine to be a role model for what "not to do"!  That says it all, right?!?!

6.  Tell us something random about your week.  I downloaded Pokemon Go for my iPhone again. It is an app that I was obsessed with a few years ago which is why I deleted it. I forgot how much fun it was and I am so happy I am starting over on it! It is so fun and very conducive to walking around your neighborhood and exploring! Lord knows I need to walk more!

Anyone else have a favorite iPhone game or app? Please share so I can enjoy it too!!!

Have a great week everyone!

  1. I only had one brother who passed away about 5 years ago. We were pretty close growing up and as adults too. The older we got the less we saw each other but mainly just because life gets so busy

    1. I am so sorry that you lost him. Siblings are the best - you know they have your back even when you are not physically with them so I am sure he watches over you! Have a great week Ann! HUGS

  3. Aw, now this 'lonely only' child is envious! I can SO relate to #5. Before anyone else can say so, I'm quick to point out I'd be a perfect role-model for what NOT to do. It ain't easy, but someone's got to do it!

  4. My is an interesting story. I was adpoted/sold at birth. I have two brothers. One I have really only seen twice in my life and he is 17 1/2 years older than me.

The other one is almost 18 years older than me and I didn't really see him I was 20. When I was 38 I tried to forge a relationship with him, for about four years it worked but he is mean and messed-up due to his pot smoking and I got tired of it and told him that he needed help. We haven't really talked in about eight years. For a while he was talking to my kids and even went to their high-school graduations but they have reached out to him but he doesn't respond. The funny thing (or sad) is that he texted my daughter about year ago wanting to know the date of his sister's death (She died before I was born) and wanted her to ask me. I knew it and told him, also told him that I loved him. No response back.

It is what it is in life. Just have to contuine to pray for both of them.

    1. That really is so sad! I am so sorry but also glad that you kept your boundaries and continue to pray for him! I truly believe that is all we can do! I will also pray for him that he finds relief from his addiction before it is too late! HUGS Patrick!

  7. I'm a second born of five, with an older sister and three younger half-brothers, so does that make me a middle child, or can there be only one middle child? That would be my oldest younger brother. We are not a close family, but get on a bit better now that we are all old.

    1. Nope, you are definitely a middle child! That is my situation too. Me and my little sister are the middle children. It sounds like that is everyone's experience...siblings get closer as they age. Have a fantastic day!

  11. Every now and then I still pull up Pokemon. My son was the one really into it and he faded out. I guess for me, it's something to do if I am sitting outside.

  13. So wonderful that you and your siblings are so close. I loved “Aunt Annie does not always make good choices!” Too funny! I guess you could have shared one of your embarrassing moments since you are a sibling! I don’t have any game apps except a couple for the kids. I guess Facebook is the app I enjoy the most for entertainment.

  18. Great answers and wonderful that you and your siblings are all in close proximity of each other. We are spread all over. I would be like your brothers, very structured, organized and always have a plan. My youngest brother is the same way but my brother just under me marches to the beat of his own drum. :o))
