Day One x 2

You guys!!! I have a serious issue to discuss!!!

Last night I did so great on my eating healthy all day!!

It was snowing when I was heading out to work so I opted to work from home.

I had two eggs on a skinny muffin for breakfast...

A spinach shake with a banana for a snack...

Nutrisystem lunch meal...

Plain carrots and celery for a snack...

 and

Baked chicken with brussel sprouts for dinner.

I went out and ran a few errands and then when I came home...

I began eating the entire house!!!! I had muffins, cheese sticks, chocolate, celery in peanut butter, etc.  What is up with me?!?!?!? This is not normal - I was not even hungry!!! UGH!!!!

So, now that I have talked about it with you all...tonight NO FOOD AFTER 6PM!!!! The end!!!! No matter what!!!!

Any advice or hints you have to stay out of food at night is appreciated...I swear this is an addiction like anything else I have dealt with ...I was NOT EVEN hungry!!!!

Wowsa!!

Do you have any addictions? Do you snack at night? HELP!!!! PLEASE!!!

I find that the sugar really causes cravings for me-- that banana and skinny muffin would do me in for the rest of the day with hunger and cravings. If I eat something like eggs, maybe with meat and cheese, vegetables, greek yogurt, berries, low sugar or no sugar, I do much better.

  3. I think we often eat out of boredom or habit.
Try scheduling something in the evenings to divert you from eating. A friend of mine started going for short walks after dinner, and it really helped her because it took her away from the food, plus she didn't want to eat too much and be uncomfortable while going on her walk. Go with a walking buddy or maybe listen to audio books during?

  4. On a low-carb diet celery with peanut butter, and cheese are good snacks, but not the other things! My biggest problem is snacking in the evening and I try to avoid it after 8:00. Not easy. You are right to just put it behind you and start again. It's a new day!

  5. Get everything out of the house that is a snack and not nutritious. Do not let anything into the house that you find addictive. Forgive yourself and begin again.

  6. I am so glad you found my blog that led me to yours. I sometimes snack in the evening and at night and don't have a clue as to why I do. Like you I am not hungry when the snacking urges hit me. I try to not buy things that I know is not good to snack on but it is not easy. I am hoping someone here will give us ideas to help. Thanks for following and I am for sure following you. Hugs

  7. You can eat at night, you just have to chose wisely. I'm not a night eater, but many are. I'm the most hungry between one and two in the afternoon. I eat rice cakes. They are low calorie and fill me up. I also drink lots of water. It's not that we eat, it's what we eat.

Eat veggies. Carrots, celery, tomatoes and the like. Slice some fresh fruit like apples, oranges, and whatever else you like. Then eat.

    Have a fabulous day. ♥

    1. You said it all Sandee! My problem is once I start on the healthy stuff; the eating kicks in and I make bad choices and eat more! I need to switch it off. I have gotten a lot of great ideas from you guys that I am going to try and having fresh fruits and veggies already cut up and ready to go will help a lot I am sure! Thanks - have a great week!

  8. HA - maybe that is it then...I can blame the bad weather! I do know I feel better when I am warm to the core...maybe I need to look into going tanning beds again. Although, that opens a whole other can of worms with health! Have a great week Jennifer!

  11. I have days like that, too. I know I do better if I combine protein and some carbs at breakfast. I also do better if I can wait longer (the 16 hour fast) to eat my first meal of the day. I'm usually not all that hungry first thing so waiting till lunch means only two meals per day and for whatever reason I'm not as hungry. I also recommend the diet pill Adipex-P. It's prescription. I've been off of it since summer and need to get back on it for a bit. When I first went on it I dropped 30 pounds with basically no effort.

  12. I will have to look into that pill if I get desperate. I am going to try all the suggestions above and see how they work first...I need to find my motivation and just get it done! I guess I am trying the reverse of what you did since I am not eating after 6PM...that should give me a long fast period in the evening.
