Thankful Thursday is here!!!
Today I am thankful that I got to spend a little time with these family last night! My sisters and Mom love to ski (not me so much-HA!) and they had planned a girls day skiing at Seven Springs which is somewhat near my house. My Mom and little sister came into town and spent the night at my house last night so they could head out early to meet my oldest sister for a day of skiing. It is always nice to chill and spend time with them!
I am also thankful for unexpected money! I love when I am not expecting $$ and it just shows up! I was cleaning out my dish cupboard and I found $10! Just a random $10 bill up in the cupboard! Yippee me!
Then I brought in the mail yesterday and I got a small refund check from my health insurance company since I had apparently overpaid on all of my co-pays for my physical therapy! That was a sweet, unexpected bonus of $60. It's not a lot but I am banking everything I can right now so I was excited! It's not everyday I get a check I was not expecting!
I am going to use those found funds to purchase some tanning sessions! I swear I have seasonal affective disorder!
I hate winter and just feel so tired and dumpy! Tanning always makes me feel better and it also helps A LOT with my psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis! This is what I have been missing and I need to prep for my trips to the beach in March and April. I cannot wait to sign up!
Also, I am thankful for family and friends (all of you included!)! I know, without a doubt, that I am loved by not only my creator but many, many other people even if I don't have a Valentine.
Thanks for all the kind words and support over the last ten years - I cherish all of you friends I have met in the blog world!!!
If you want to join in; go visit Rebecca Jo and link up for her Thankful Thursday!!
PS - Yesterday was another good food day!!! YEAH!!!!
Not that you care but if you do...
Breakfast: Fit and Active Cereal with Red Berries, Banana
Lunch: Celery, Carrots and Baked Chicken Breast
Dinner: Baked Cod, Zucchini Bread, and Steamed broccoli
Snacks: Lit and Fit yogurt, Apple
I came in right at my recommended calories for the day with 15 left!
Have a great week everyone and Happy Valentines Day!!!
What are your plans for Valentines? Do you stay in or go out? Do you celebrate tonight or wait for the weekend?
Thanks for stopping by! I am a Pittsburgh girl - born and raised! I blog about my city, travel, weight loss, recovery, family, and life in general! I love the Steelers, coffee and my cats! I took a crappy job shutdown and turned it into a positive mid-life pivot - I am now attending nursing school - set to graduate in December 2022!!! Please make sure to comment and let me know you were here...I love making new friends!

Guys.... I am so sad!! I woke up this morning sick! My throat is killing me! I leave in two days for Florida...I can't be sick...p...
You had another good day yesterday. Sticking to your diet can be a challenge. I know.
ReplyDeleteI have SAD too. Not a sever case, but I know when it's gloomy too long.
Have a fabulous day and a very happy Valentines Day. ♥
That is exactly the same with me Sandee! The gloomy gets under my skin! Thanks for the supportive words!! Happiest of Valentines to you also!!! Hugs
DeleteHope you have a happy Valentine's Day!!
ReplyDeleteThank you!!! Same to you Julie!
DeleteHave a happy Valentines Day
ReplyDeleteThank you - same to you! Enjoy! Hugs
DeleteGreat job. SAD is for real. I had a friend who bought a visor she wore at home after work that had this special light. It was back in the 90's. Her doctor recommended she get this to assist in her SAD. She laughed but finally decided to buy it thinking it would do nothing. She wore it all night before going to bed. Damn if it didn't work for her. She normally became a hermit in winter and very depressed. They tried this before antidepressants and it worked. We teased her but when we saw the difference we were all shocked and thrilled that it worked for her. have you ever heard of these?
ReplyDeleteThat visor sounds amazing! I am definitely going to look into hat! I am willing to try anything to stay out of a funk and I definitely believe in the healing properties of good ole sunshine! Happy Valentines Day Margaret!
DeleteNope - we wait till the weekend - & it'll be all about take out for dinner tonight :)
ReplyDeleteI love when money pops out randomly - in a pocket is always the best surprise :)
That the best Rebecca - found money! Have fun this weekend and definitely enjoy the night of NOT cooking!!!! Relax and enjoy - you deserve it! Happy Valentines Day!
DeleteWe don’t celebrate too big for Valentine’s Day, because life is so busy. We gift the kids each a heart box of candy, but nothing too crazy. We’ll have basketball & church all weekend too, so alas..simple is better for my crew!
ReplyDeleteSound like the kind of Valentines that my parents had for us. I used to look forward to getting that box of chocolate from my Dad! What a beautiful family time you have planned Britt!!! Enjoy!
DeleteI found that exercise (even indoors, at the gym) always helped with SAD. Especially when we lived in Alaska!
ReplyDeleteThat is probably true too! I cannot imagine living in Alaska! It must have been beautiful but the weather is something I would definitely struggle with.
DeleteI am thankful that all three of my boys agreed to take a painting class with me today. We got a bit frustrated at times trying to follow along but had a lot of fun just being together.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for sharing with us at Encouraging Hearts and Home. Pinned.
DeleteThat is wonderful!!Those are always such a great time when you get past always feeling behind - for me at least! HA! How cool that you all have a painting to cherish out of it too!!!
DeleteI hear you on winter. The lack of sunshine and color just makes me feel lazy.
ReplyDeleteNice finding unexpected money. That's always a pick me up.
Sadly it made my whole week Ann!!!! Shows the excitement my time usually involves!!! Then tanning helped!!! Have a great night!
DeleteThank you for publishing this list of SAD symptoms. Sure, I'd always heard of it, but every stinkin' one of these sounds like what my hubby is experiencing.
ReplyDeleteThe tanning bed really helped! I am also going to look into the light visor that Margaret mentioned above! SAD is a real thing~
DeleteYou found money and got a refund, that's great!
ReplyDeleteRight Dara?!?! Now I am just waiting to win the lottery! HA
DeleteCongrats on the good food day!! I do care! Skiing... not my thing! LOL Hope the tanning sessions help - just don't stay in there too long!! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteOh the tanning has helped immensely!!! I am sure I will pay for it later in life but I feel so much better today! Thanks for caring!!!! I hope you and Joe have a great week ahead!!! Hugs Terri!
DeleteWell that was a nice visit you had with your mom and sister. Hooray on the extra money! Normally here in Southern CA I don't suffer too much from SAD but we have had weeks of on and off rain now which has me feeling down. We stayed in yesterday because of the bad rain storms we were having. Wow,yum on your meal from the other day! Enjoy your weekend.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, you get to enjoy Mr. Sun everyday! I am sooo jealous!!! I really need to consider moving - HA! If my entire family were not here - I definitely would! Have a great week Debby!
DeleteI'm so sick of the rain here. Everything is muddy.
ReplyDeleteMe too! Same here - wet and muddy!!! and brown!!! Bring on Spring!!!! Have a great week!
DeleteHow fun to find some extra money! I totally get the SAD thing - my husband definitely feels the effects of winter more than I do. For Val Day, we went out to a nice restaurant for dinner. Nothing fancy, just one we love and don't get to go to very often.
ReplyDeleteHow lovely! Dinner together at a favorite restaurant is the best valentines date ever in my eyes! The SAD thing is real - I hope your husband finds some relief...it's icky to feel icky!!!! Have a great week!~
DeleteWow, you hit the jackpot. :) It is nice when we get or find unexpected funds. We have had rain, rain and more rain so I am ready for sunshine. Hope you had a nice Valentines;s Day and you will have a great weekend. Maybe we will see spring soon. Hugs
ReplyDeleteLets hope Spring is around the corner!!! LOL - yes, now I am holding my breath waiting to win the lottery - so far, no luck!!! Have a great week!!!
