I hope everyone had a wonderful start to the new week!!!
I worked, went tanning (ahhhhhh...) and then went home for dinner. After dinner I made a necklace to mail out today (an order from My Etsy Shop) and then got lots and lots of beautiful sleep.
Nothing exciting at all. Sometimes that is the best feeling! Serenity!!! No drama, no craziness, just "even keel" life...serenity...
I have to say, I LOVE my neighbors (on my floor) right now! I live in a condo and your neighbors are SO very important in that living arrangement!
The four units on the second floor are "second floor strong"! We attend all of the condo board meetings and are all very involved on voting for the rules, etc. Everyone else (four units on the top floor and four units in the basement) just seem to not care.
One neighbor is a single woman in the same situation as myself; she lives alone too. Another is a single mom raising her son (he is 11 now) and the other is a couple that has downsized since their children grew up and moved out.
We all think alike and support each other and that is really a great situation!
If I need help moving heavy furniture or anything else that comes up; I know I can always knock on doors until I find someone home to help me...it is a wonderful living situation right now.
I have had horrible neighbors in the past so I really hope we all stay put, for a while at least - it is like Condo Nirvana right now! HA HA!
Anyone else have neighbors that make it a great place to live? What about stressful place to live? How was your Monday?

DeleteWe have good neighbors right now, but we did have one neighbor that would throw their dog outside when the went to work in the morning and that dog would bark all. day. long. ALL. DAY. LONG. They were right behind us. It was awful and they didn't care. They moved after many years and we had a very quiet party when they left.

DeleteOur neighbors are wonderful. We all have our own houses, but we couldn't be in a better neighborhood. It does make all the difference!!

DeleteI have had fabulous neighbors and then I've had so-so neighbors. Right now so-so. I live in a townhome so we are on top of each other in a way. Side by side so thoughtfulness is great and so are kind neighbors. We miss those old neighbors. While these people are okay they are just that. Sad isn't it? I'm glad you appreciate what you've got. It's great Ann! Good for you, your deserve it.
ReplyDeleteI know the feeling - we dealt with so so for a long time and now have definitely hit the jackpot with fabulous! Hopefully soon you will have NEW neighbors and get back to fabulous - it makes all the difference!
DeleteI am a person who likes my privacy, but you are right in that having neighbors as you age is essential to a safe and happy life. When you also have neighbors that are in sync with your philosphy of life, you have it made.

DeleteYour day sounds like mine. Work, tan and complete etsy orders. haha. I live in a close knit neighborhood. We all look out for each other and even have our own Facebook group to report news. You are right, good neighbors are important.

DeleteIt's always nice to have good neighbors. I have a very quiet neighborhood. Everyone pretty much keeps to themselves. So different from what I grew up with.

DeleteYour building sounds interesting. It is good to have good neighbors. We've lived in the same neighborhood for almost 40 years and are a couple of the original owners. When we moved here, everyone owned their homes, but now the majority of the homes in our development are rentals. It makes for a different kind of neighborhood.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, it definitely does. We have that same situation in the condo too. Not everyone is like this but normally, if someone is renting, they do not take as much care as the owners do. This is very evident with cigarette butts in our grass and people throwing trash outside of the dumpster...sadly. Have a great week!!!
