Ian’s Spanish Sangria

Happy hump day ya'll!!

Today I am sharing with you my brother and sister-in-law's favorite sangria recipe. They went to Spain and took a class on how to make Sangria. At the end of the class, they drank A LOT of sangria and left with a copy of the recipe. They made it for my family over the 4th of July Holiday and everyone loved it (not me of course...HA!) so I thought I would share it here! Enjoy!!

Here is the cute couple prepping the ingredients...LOTS of ingredients...mostly alcohol!! HA HA!

Here is my sister-in-law cutting up the fruit...you use one lemon and one orange sliced into thin rings...

Put that into a large glass pitcher...all they had was a trifle bowl but it worked!!! HA! Add ice!


Get a good sniff of the brandy ...


and then add 100 ml of it to the bowl...


Then add a half of a liter of red wine...cheap red wine is fine!

Then add 100ml of vodka and 100 ml of peach schnapps...


Then 100ml of apple schnapps...




Top off with fizzy orange and fizzy lemon soda...I think they put about 100ml of each in.


And that's it! Mix all together and serve!!

I am adding this fun shot of my sister to the end...maybe she had one too many Sangria's as she was very happy to let me put a watermelon sticker on her forehead and get a picture - HEE HEE!  Just kidding - I love my family for humoring me ...this is actually my sister making her FAMOUS mac and cheese for the family one night...yum!!! I will save that recipe for another time!

Just a little picture dump for an update - hee hee!!!

I am back with my baby. We have talked and worked things out so I think we are good to go from here.  He is such a sweet man!!! LOVE him!

Over the weekend I wen tot the lake (parents house) and hung out with my brother, his wife and their two kids. This is a picture of my adoprable niece and nephew ... this was his first time on the speed boat. He has ridden on the pontoon many times but never in the speed boat. He was a little freeked out at first but loved it within 5 minutes!

This is me (left side) and my sister-in-law with my nephew. This was his first ever tube ride and he was hilarious! He loved it sooooo much!! His sister, however, would not even TRY it!!! Can you say chicken?!?!?

This is my other nieces and nephew. They had their first day of school yesterday! Do they not look wayyyyyyy too little to be climbing onto that big bus?!?! Sooo glad I was not there - I would have been bawling! They grow up way too fast these days!

And this...is my delicious lunch today!!! My cafeteria at work makes the best personal pizzas!!! You can pick either regular or wheat crust and unlimited toppings for 5$!!!!!

Now I have got to go!!! A co-worker is retiring and I am missing out on free cake downstairs!!! Again, yummo!! HA

Post of everything!!!

This is a little post about everything!!!

First and formost - even after dinner last Monday at the melting Pot restaurant...I was down 2.8 lbs at weight watchers weigh in on Saturday!!!! Yeah me - I have not been serious for a while and this just shows me that I am finally on track!!! I love my new Saturday meeting also...it gives me something to do early Saturday morning and gets me going!!!

Next - number two - I have taken a few days off from the gym. I was at the gym last week (I think Wednesday) and I had to leave boot camp class half way through as my ears started ringing really badly and I got dizzy and faint...Well, after a minute or two of not feeling like I could catch my breath - I fainted!!! How embarrasing!!!! Anyway, my mom convinced me that I am overdoing the exercise so I took a few days off...has this ever happened to anyone else - This has never happened to me before but it can really scare you!!!!!!!! If it happens again I will haed straight to the doctor!

Third thingy - I am waiting with baited breath for my sister-in-law to finally birth my niece!!! They are in Columbus and she is actually due today but we were sure it would happen last week as she has been dialted forever...anyway I can't wait to meet my new niece (I think her name is going to be Madelyn Josephine or Maddy Jo after my Grandmother). We shall see...hopefully sooner than later!!!!!!!!! They did not go for Annie Jr...oh well, there is always my child, right?!?!?!

A Baby Shower!!!

This weekend is the baby shower for my sister-in-law!!
Yippee!!!!
They are having a little girl in March 2010 and we are all soooo excited for them!
This is their first child!!!!
I am trying really hard to push the name Ann, Jr. but so far - no dice!!
