I met up with two of my favorite people; Kathy and Carol.
We met up at the Walnut Grille in Fox Chapel. This required me to drive over the rivers in Pittsburgh and head to the "other side of the city" from The South Hills. If you live in Pittsburgh you know what I mean.
We rarely travel over the river to other areas - HA!
here we are in our outdoor seating on the patio. Now masks were required when you got to you table outdoors. We did however keep social distance and no hugging....sadly! I felt super safe though.
Carol brought Kathy and I a birthday cake! Mine was in May and Kathy in June. We had not been able to get together since February!!! WOW! She is sooo super thoughtful - it was delicious!
I hope everyone is happy and safe!!
Thanks for stopping by and HUGE HUGS TO EVERYONE!!
Have you eaten out in a restaurant yet? Have you met up with friends at all? Did you feel safe? Do you know anyone that has been infected with Covid 19? Are you safe and well? How are you feeling today?
So good that you had a nice time out with friends, as we did with family. But we are locked down again now. It is for the greater good.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely Andrew! I completely agree - we are getting stricter here also. Whatever it takes to get through this alive!
DeleteMy daughter and I ate at Red Lobster right after restaurants reopened and felt perfectly safe. Only certain tables were open, the staff all wore masks...it felt so go to do something normal. Other than family, the only people I get together with on a regular basis is my bible study group and we are like family. We don't wear masks when together, but we're all pretty careful in the rest of our lives so don't worry about it together. Westmoreland Co. restaurants were reportedly supposed to close again, but that proved to have been false and so far they are staying open with safety precautions in full force. As for feeling safe...yeah, I do. I know they keep reporting all these cases but I don't know a single person first-hand who has had the virus. It's always someone knows someone who knows someone.
ReplyDeleteSame here Stacy! Things are about where you guys are and everyone is still wearing masks in public in PA as it is a law. My parents know a few people at their lake with it but it seems that they have not infected any others once the contact tracers do their job so that is good. I am really to be through with this virus - bring on the vaccine for me! Have a great day!
DeleteWe both had the virus, so boyfriend and I weren't very concerned when we went to our favorite seafood place. Very casual place, you carry your tray of food to your table. Half the tables had been removed, so it was quite comfortable, and most customers were wearing masks.
ReplyDeleteWell, go you! I guess that is a good feeling that you had it and made it through! No worries now right? I felt safe too - especially outside. Have a great day!
DeleteNothing better than time with sweet friends. Stay safe♥
ReplyDeleteDefinitely will Linda! I really was sooo happy to see them! Hugs to you - have a great day!
DeleteYes we got to go out to eat a couple weeks ago and now they are only doing take out and outdoor dining. Oh well.
ReplyDeleteI don't know anyone that has been affected with this virus.
The cake looks really good.
Have a fabulous day and week. ♥
I wish I were so lucky. You must live in a very isolated state. Stay that way. :-) Be safe
DeleteDefinitely Sandee! Still being very vigilant everyday!!! Have a great day!
DeleteNo, I have not nor would I. I wouldn't be sitting this close to others either. You were not wearing masks. This is why I won't go out. Thankfully in our state non of that is allowed.
ReplyDeleteNo we were not. We are allowed to eat outside together but not inside. Seems strange to me but I am staying as vigilant as I can for me. After reading your comment though - I have realized I have become a little more lax - time will tell I suppose. Hugs!
DeleteI haven't eaten in a restaurant since March. We have got take out a few times and drive thrus too.
ReplyDeleteSmart to stay safe though! Everyone is trying to do what is best for them - glad you are all safe!!! Have a great day!
DeleteWe don't go to restaurants that much. I don't think I'd feel comfortable sitting inside but mayb outside with tables spaced apart and the waitress/servers wearing masks I wouldn't mind.
ReplyDeleteThat is the same with me - I hardly ever eat out and when I do it is to meet up with friends; at least back in the pre-covid days. Have a great day!
DeleteNOpe- no eating out for me. I'm good with it - it freaks me out to be out in restaurants. I'll run in & get to-go orderes with my mask on & just see people talking & laughing way too close to each other. I'm happy to take the food home.
ReplyDeleteBut glad you got to see your friends!
Thanks Rebecca Jo! It was really nice to see them! HUGS - have a great day!
DeleteGlad you were able to get out with your friends. Sounds like you had a good time
ReplyDeleteThanks Ann - we really did! HUGS - have a great week!
DeleteOur restaurants are still open to 50% capacity and we have taken advantage of them many times. Glad you got out with your friends before your restaurants closed again. Hope your gold outing goes on!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Terri! Hugs - stay safe and have a great day!
DeleteIt is a friggin mess here in the Bay Area. The counties around me have outdoor dining and my did too until Friday night as people in the county I live (Alameda County) forgot to do paperwork and the restaurants had to close their outdoor dining. County officials didn't issue an order but a press release instead. People are pissed. Outdoor dining had been open for about two weeks.
ReplyDeleteBut some cities in the county like my city Hayward were planning street closures of main drags that have restaurants and told the county, that the press release wasn't a legal order and issued this statement: "The City of Hayward intends to go through with the street closure event as planned and will support local restaurants who choose to participate- whether by providing outdoor dining service or just takeout service," and they encouraged people to come out and dine.
This so crazy but I am glad that you were able to get out with your friends. Looks like a wonderful time.
Thanks Patrick! It was super nice to see them in person...no hugging but eating together was like old times! Have a great day - HUGS
DeleteI have eaten out with a friend for lunch and my husband and I have eaten dinner out with friends. The restaurants weren't crowded and I did feel safe. My husband and I have eaten out a few times since restaurants could open for dine in. For the most part, we were the only people or there were 2 or 4 others; very well separated. I do think there will be a relapse because people are getting lax about taking precautions.
ReplyDeleteWe are doing about the same thing here Robin. Stay safe - glad you got time with friends out too! HUGS - have a great day!
DeleteI'm craving face-to-face friend time. Glad you got out with Carol and Kathy - how thoughtful to include a birthday cake!
ReplyDeleteShe is super thoughtful Abby! And yes, it meant everything to see their smiles and chat in person! Have a great day - stay safe! HUGS
