It's finally Summer 2019

Happy Monday ya'll!!!

I hope everyone had the fantastic weather that we had in PA/OH over the weekend!!! It finally felt like summer - yippee!!!

Out speed boat is on the struggle bus lately. The steering is really tight and my father recently broke a rib (UGH!!!) so we are waiting until he heals a little before we tackle fixing the boat.

So.....this weekend we improvised and tried having the kids ski behind the jet ski! We had never tried this before and it actually worked! They had to hang on really tight initially as they drug a little more than usual in the beginning but once they were up it worked pretty great! HA!

Mom drove the jet ski and I rode backwards and worked the rope and spotted!

Here is Kyleigh....

And...heading into our dock...the kids love to ski into the dock area and let go...here is Kyleigh again...

And when she let go...they just slowly sink down into the water....HA!

And...here is Ryan behind the jet ski...

And closer to the dock area....

And...he let go...

The pontoon boat parade is two weeks away...this year we are doing the Safari Theme! I think it will be amazing!!!!

So, 4th of July weekend we will decorate the pontoon and I promise to get get pics for you...if you want to see our past themes...click below...

My nephew took this enhanced picture of the lake this weekend...

And this is the UN-enhanced version...any question why I drive to my parents every weekend in the summer?!?!

My niece made these protein balls for everyone to try. They are chocolate chips, peanut butter, coconut oil, and vanilla...they looked delish!!! I forgot to try one! HA!

Sunday we started the day off at church and then to help my parents. The church built a new hall and my father helped a lot both with his time and his engineering skills. They had a tour for people to see the new hall after mass so we hung out and greeted people as they entered...oh, and ate a lot of cookies!!!

My niece had her earphones on for the ride home with her Taylor Swift music...I decided I needed to bug her so I used "Cabin Talk" to intercept the Taylor music with my rendition of "Shallow" by Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper. You can see by how she is covering her ears it did not go well....HA! That's my Mom on the right trying to stay out of it...HA!

Sunday on the lake was spent paddle-boarding and floating...the weather was beyond perfect! Here is Kyleigh...

And another mid-spill...

And then finally...the aftermath...HA!

And here is Ryan...

We did a family cheers to Summer!!!!

And spent time after dinner on the patio watching the hummingbirds...I tried so hard to get a photo but this is the best I could do...see him/her?!?!

I hope you all had a great weekend and got a fantastic start to your summer!!!!

What is your favorite part of summer? What is your favorite summer recipe? How is life? Is it Summer where you live?

HUGS!

Happy Monday

Summer just makes me smile! I don't know how else to say it except summer makes me soooo happy!
The fact that my parents have a house on a lake and some summer toys also helps! I love weekends spent together with family by a lake! We float, swim, have campfires and smores and play on lots of watercraft! LOL!
This weekend the lake held a kids fishing derby. The kids registered and fished for two hours (the fishing club provided the worms and everything) and then the total weight of the fish they caught were totaled. Each kid got a bucket to put their fish in and they were released once they were weighed alive - no fish were harmed except maybe some sore lips :-)
The boys both registered but as soon as the girls saw how much fun it was, and they had to watch anyway, they wanted in on the action! HA HA! These kids do not know how to be patient and watch the bobber so I cannot even relate to you how many times they could cast and real back in during that 2 hours even when there was no fish biting the line!! HA HA
Mom, Dad, my sister, her two girls as well as myself went to watch and support the boys and we all had fun! This is a picture of the support crew minus me!

In the end, my nephew won second place in his age range with his one big mouth bass fish (prizes were for total weight of fish caught) that weighed 0.86 pounds that his twin sister caught while he was on a break - LOL - and his prize was $20! We had no idea there was money involved...just assumed bragging rights as it was free to enter!  Then at the very end, we were shocked to hear that he also won for the biggest fish of the day with that giant 0.86 pounder that his sister reeled in and he got $50 more! HA HA! He is so sweet, he immediately gave the $20 one to his cousin that also registered but did not catch any fish that morning and he plans to share his $50 with his sister since she helped :-)

It was a great start for the weekend of family fun!

How was your weekend? Anything fun or just chill? Any fishermen out there?

Have a blessed and enjoyable day!
