Happy Monday ya'll!! I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend as much as I did! I love Summer and apparently it came back in Pennsylvania!
I was planning to go up to my parents at the lake but left my swimsuit at home because I thought the lake water would be freezing and there would be no use for it.
Well.....that was NOT the case! I got there and the weather became gorgeous!!! It was in the high 70's all weekend and the lake water was SOOOO warm!!!!!
I arrived Friday night to help my parents with their "test" fish fry at their Parrish. The Parrish built a new recreation hall and the wanted to do a test fish fry to make sure all the equipment and everything works the way it is supposed to prior to the next REAL fish fry they will have there.
Here is the picture before hand...this is all the volunteer workers.
Here is the ToGo station all ready...
Here is the line when we opened the door. It was only for friends and family of the volunteer workers as it was a test run...
Little taste testing….
And a picture when it was over...we sang to my parents and two other volunteers that had birthdays in the month of September. Such a fun and successful first run!!!! It went great!
My niece and nephew bought this game for my Mom for her birthday because they thought it is was funny!! It is called Pimple Popper!!! ICK!!! My sister and niece played it before dinner on Saturday.
On Saturday we decided we needed to have some fun in the water!
Walking down to the water, I was cracking up watching my parents cats Sami stalking his prey. he catches at least on little animal a day...it is soooo gross! He does not eat them; he just brings them to my parents feet dead and gross! UGH! But he thinks he is earning his keep as he really is a country cat! Here he is in action! He catches squirrels, chipmunk, moles and even a bird every now and then. It makes me sad but my parents say it is in his blood.
Here is the view of the lake this weekend...it was so still and pretty!!
So, Aly started tubing alone...
And my Mom drove and sister spotted...
And then I hopped on...it was a great day!!! We bit it sooo many times on the tube...it was really fun being the only boat on the lake!
I drove home Saturday night to go to the Steelers Home Opener on Sunday!!! YAY! I sent my friend in San Diego, CA a Steelers cheerleader outfit for her adorable daughter Nena (Charlotte Magdalena) and she sent me this pic early Sunday morning!!! Sooo cute!!!
I was going with a friend on mine but we met up with my family before the game for a quick lunch! From left to right....my older sister; my nephew Matt, then little guy is nephew Ryan, then brother in law Steve, then niece Jessica, then brother in law Dan! I love my family and I love that we make time to meet up whenever we can!!!!
And this is me and Kathy (the friend that invited me to the game). Thanks for the invite Kathy! I love hanging out with her - she is a blast!
Here is a picture of me and my sister. This one was when we were walking to the stadium, Heinz Field before the game.
And here is my sisters family in one...what a cute family, hugh? I may be partial...HA!
One of my favorite layers is JuJu and he has the cutest dog! This is his dog with his girlfriend that e sees at the dog park....too cute, right??!?!?
Sadly, my team lost on Sunday so that was a tad depressing but it is just a game, right? Better luck next week!!!
I hope you all enjoyed the beautiful weather as much as I did.
Have a fantastic week!!
Do you attend fish fry's in your area? Are you boycotting the NFL? Do you like to go to sporting events? Who is your favorite football team? Are you sick of summer and ready for Fall?
You had quite a full weekend! I understand how you feel about the cat; Redford brings us similar gifts. It's what cats do.
ReplyDeleteLOL _ I am sure everyone with an outdoor cat enjoys those gifts! LOL!
DeleteWhat a fun weekend. Wow. It was in the triple digits here. Very hot. It's raining now.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous day and week. ♥
Right - I am digging this extended summer - YAY!! Have a fantastic week Sandee...thanks for stopping by!HUGS
DeleteI enjoyed your week end and meeting all your family and friends. no fish fries, no football for me at all, hubby watches on TV. his fav is Cowboys even though he is from PA. go figure. I am sick to death of summer, hottest summer I have seen in 35 years here in FL and no relief in sight. in the 90's every day since April.
ReplyDeleteCowboys?!?! Really!???!! I have never heard of someone from PA switching teams - LOL!! JUST KIDDING! Hope you have a great week! HUGS
Deletethat little cheerleader outfit!!! Too cute
ReplyDeleteGlad to see you still got to enjoy the water. I cant believe how warm it still is!!!
I agree Rebecca Jo but I am also not complaining - I will take it as long as it will stay! LOL! Have a great day!
DeleteStill hot here as well!! But Fall will come eventually.
ReplyDeleteAgreed - it always does.....have a fantastic week Arlene! HUGS

Great post! LOL! No betting for me - my team is really not doing so well yet.....fingers still crossed though. Have a great day!
DeleteYes, to fish fries...when Tim and I get home early enough. No, not boycotting the NFL, but not happy with them, either. Yes, I love going to games. You know the Steelers are my team! And yes, sooooo sick of summer and wanting fall to show up!
ReplyDeleteIt is a scary year for our team so far this year but I am hopeful that Rudolph is going to pull it off! Fingers crossed!!! Have a great week Stacy!
DeleteYou didn't take your swimming costume but you say the water was so warm......you didn't did you?
ReplyDeleteI did not take it but it really was very warm!!!
DeleteIt sounds and looks like you had a wonderful weekend. Not a football fan; I usually root for the underdog. Summer doesn't want to release her grasp. I was sick of summer following the first 90+ day. The Legion has a pretty good fish fry around here.
ReplyDeleteI am sure - I have never had a bad piece of fish from our legion either! My favorite activity - eating fried fish! YUM!!! Have a great week Robin!
DeleteVery cool weekend. Nice. I don't any fish fry's because I am highly allergic to fish.
ReplyDeleteWe got 1 1/2 NFL teams within a 30 minute drive of my house on the 880 Freeway. San Francisco (who actually play in Santa Clara-which is 30 minutes south) is the team I follow and Oakland (which is 30 minutes north) and they are leaving that is why they are a half of team.
And the Steelers come out and play the Niners this week.. Hate to say this that I am rooting for the Niners.
You definitely got your wish - it does not look like our year this year so maybe after we are out I will start routing for your team for the remainder of the season! Congrats on the win Patrick!
DeleteYou have been busy. Great idea on doing a test run for the fish fry. That sounds like a crazy game. The lake looks so inviting. The baby looks adorable. How fun to go to the game. Sorry they lost.
ReplyDeleteThanks Debby - it does not look like it is going to be our year this year for the Steelers. Have a fantastic week!
DeleteThe baby is adorable! So I've been watching all these you tubers that do picking and reselling and they are all in your area. So weird lol. Also my daughter's boy friend is from Philly too.
ReplyDeleteMaybe I need to learn how to do that! I would love to not have to have a "real job"...how do you learn to pick - LOL!!! That's awesome - my one niece is living in Philly now. Small world!! Have a great day Julie! HUGS
