Wednesday Hodgepodge

It's time for the weekly Wednesday Hodgepodge!  Whoop Whoop! I'm joining in with Joyce and all of the other lovely bloggers for this week's questions.

1. Besides Thanksgiving, something you're looking forward to on your November calendar?
Can I pick two!!?? It is my Aunt Marti's birthday in November and I love her lots! Also , I am attending a Steelers Game with my good friend Kathy from work!!! I can;t wait for that one! It is so much fun to be at the game in the middle of the excitement! whoopie!

2.  If I gave you a Thank You card right now, who would you send it to and why?
I would have to send it to a woman I work with Sheila. She is so thoughtful and always leaving gifts on everyone's desks to cheer people up for the holidays. Yesterday she left me a plate of cookies and a lovely Welcome Fall centerpiece for my desk! So thoughtful!

3.   Of the breads listed, which one is your favorite...bagel, cinnamon, sourdough, garlic, banana, biscuit, pita, Naan, or plain old fashioned white bread?
I LOVE any and all bread!! YUMMO! My favorite of those listed would be Naan! Delish!

4.  What's something you have in abundance?  Is that a good thing? Ok, this is kind of embarrassing but I'm going to go ahead and say it...BEANIE BABIES!   I got in on the craze from almost the beginning of it, and I have so many!  When I think I'm going to get rid of them and just keep a few, the keep pile just gets bigger and bigger, so I guess I'll keep them all for now!  The good thing about it is, that I haven't added to the collection in years.

5.  November 5th is National Love Your Red Hair Day.  Are there any redheads in your family?  Who is your favorite redhead? We do not have a single redhead in the bunch! I dyed my hair cherry chocolate for a few years if that counts! HA
6. The travel website Busbud recently calculated the most Instagrammed spot in every state?  Go here to see what made the list where you live.  Are you happy with your state's #1?  If not, what do you think should be the most photographed spot in your state?  Have you snapped a photo there?  If you live outside the USA, answer as it relates to you city, state or province. I live in Pennsylvania and it says it is the zoo. That makes sense and I am sure they are some amazing pictures to be had there! We have a great Zoo!
7.  I'm going to try to have something related to gratitude in this spot each week during the month of November.  Here's this week's question- What's something you've learned about yourself this year that you're grateful for?
I love that you are doing the grateful thing for HodgePodge!!!  I am grateful to have learned that I can still be a very selfish person. I am happy to know that I can clearly see myself and know what I need to work on in the future to be a better person.
8.  Insert your own random thought here.
I love the holidays! I did not post a picture of my pumpkins this year as they were at my BF's house and we were split. He emailed me a picture of them all lit up - I am very proud! I think I did really great this year! Happy holidays everyone! Enjoy everyone you love in your life!

Anyone else LOVE to decorate pumpkins?

Anyone else already decorating for Christmas?!?!?

All tuckered out! This was the rider home...so quiet and everyone was sleepy...kids and adults alike!  My parents took all the kids to the children's zip-line course so the adults could all go and have fun together. They are saints! The kids had a great time too!!!

I hope everyone had a great weekend!!! For the time being, I will be packing my time full of friends and family and hopefully this hole in my heart from detaching will start to heal soon!!!

Have you ever gone zip-ling?

Did you ever have to walk away from someone you truly love? How did you heal it and move forward?

Being an Aunt is Awesome!!!

I had the pleasure of spending a long weekend with my adorable nieces and nephews. I have more that are older but this is all the little ones that still think I'm cool! HA

We did two separate nights of trick or treat. Both my sister and brother live in Columbus and their trick or treat nights were different so you KNOW we went to both!!!

This is night one! It was great weather and my sister and I got lots of exercise running with the kids from house to house.

My sister hosted an end of the year soccer party for my nephews friends and we made these from Pinterest! It was a Pinterest Win - Rice Crispy Pumpkins!

I spent lots of time cuddling and snuggling! Apparently the kids were all talking about what they thought happened with me and the man. They overheard that I was coming to Columbus earlier since me and Mark broke up. They told their friends mom that they were so excited to see me for the weekend since I decided not to be in love with him anymore. LOL - don't they make it seem easy? That's pretty much it too so why does this seem SOOO hard?!?!? Ugh!

We went to a school visit and I got to eat lunch with all the kids in the cafeteria...so fun! My sister found Austin hiding in the janitors closet!

This is the kids waiting for the school bus...such little cuties!!!

At the school lunch day - chicken nugget day!!!!!! Seriously. I struck gold on the day I went - LOVE nuggets!!! And so does Maddy as you can see!!!!

And lastly trick or treat Round 2!

My sister has a fountain and gold course in her back yard and the kids spent Sunday fishing balls out of the lake in the backyard. Then Maddy and Ryan decided it was a good idea to wash them....trouble trouble....HA!!!!

I hope everyone has a great week! Thanks again for all the support with the breakup! Your comments and encouragement definitely helps so much!

Anyone else go trick or treating multiple times?

Anyone else still love school lunches?

My Five!!

I am joining in on all of the Friday Favorite blog roundups!!! This is an easy one for me today! My favorite 5 are these adorable children in Ohio! These are my nieces and nephews from Ohio (there are three more in PA) and I am spending the weekend with them! They are definitely a great cure for a broken heart! We trick or treated last night and here is a group shot!

I will be going to school for lunches with each one of them today! I am so excited to be each ones lunch buddy!!!

Tomorrow is the big family ziplining excursion! I will be posting an update and pictures!

Thanks to everyone for reaching out and offering words of encouragement! It really has been so sweet of each one of you! I am still hanging in and trudging on!

I hope everyone out there in blog land has an amazing weekend!!!

Out of Tears and Words

I am so out of tears and words...it feels like it is getting harder not easier! I have not talked to or heard from him since we said good bye on Sunday night.

Eventually I know it will get easier and easier but right now, it is so hard not to pick up the phone or text him. I have to keep reminding myself that I was not getting anything out of the relationship anymore.

Uggghhh...oh well, I gave the ultimatum that I knew I needed to and he made his choice (I knew in my heart what he would choose but that does not make it any easier)!

I KNOW I HAD to walk away to protect and honor myself....not only as a person in recovery but as a women in general...but that does not make it better :-(

I will be spending the weekend with my family and that will also help make it better and get my mind of of things I cannot control.

I am not going to write a long, sad and drawn out post today as I do not want to bring everyone down or put unhappiness out there...so, I will leave you with some things I pinned this morning...

Wednesday Hodgepodge

I am joining in on Wednesday Hodgepodge with From This Side of the Pond!

1. Are you comfortable with silence? If you're home alone, do you like silence or do you need regular background noise? Do you seek out times and places to be silent? What's your favorite place to find silence/be silent? I used to be okay with silence but I think, for now, it makes me uncomfortable and I start thinking...HA! Thinking is not want I want to do right now as I fear it will drive me to sad text which is EXACTLY what I am trying to avoid right now! So the TV or iTunes it is for now!!!!
2. October 28th is National Chocolate Day. Can't let that go by without a mention now, can we? Will you celebrate? How? Let's say you can have one of the following right this very minute... a cup of hot chocolate, a strawberry dipped in chocolate, a bowl of plain chocolate ice cream, or a slice of chocolate pie...what's your pleasure? Seriously?!?! What a great day! I will definitely celebrate!! Give me dark or milk...I have no preference! I LOVE Chocolate and am so happy it has its own day! HA
3. How do you feel about blue jeans? Favorite thing in the world to wear or nope, don't own a single pair? How often do you wear blue jeans in a typical week? Do you own a blue jean jacket? I am a huge fan of jean leggings! I love stretchy jeans and my nieces have okay ed them for me. They said if you are over 40 with no kids its fine..LOL!
4. Are you superstitious? If so, in what way? Not at all!.
5. If you had to come up with a costume using only things you have on hand right now, what could you come up with? I am at work so I could be a corporate employee - HA HA
6. What scares you a little? What do you do when you feel scared? I hate supernatural things...ghosts, spirits, etc. SCARRRRRRY! I have not felt scared in a long time I am happy to say. The last time would be about three years ago some friends and I went to a real haunted house and I TRULY did not sleep for weeks!
7. Perhaps today will be the day I ______________________________. stop  being sad about my last lost love.... :-(
8.  Insert your own random thought here. I cannot stop thinking about Chocolate day! This make my week and I will be headed out at lunch to celebrate!!! Happy week everyone!

Be kind!

Men Suck AGAIN

I am REALLY bummed to be writing this but the proverbial "writing on the wall" has been there and I am finally cutting my loses and running. One Sunday I broke up with the recent guy...we made about ten months and I am truly sad and heartbroken!

There are a few "deal breakers" for me in relationships (I have had a list for years of what I will not tolerate in a relationship since being in recovery) and let's just say one or two of these came into play.

This really pains me as I am truly in love with this man and he was, I thought, everything I was waiting for in a guy.
I know I will be okay...time heals all wounds, but I am sure I will be sad for a while...
Anyone else unlucky in love?!?!
Ugh...here we go again...
Internet hugs welcome!
Happy Monday all!

ICU Nurse it is
