Here Kitty Kitty Kitty...

We had an exciting week here at work! I assist with the Wildlife Sustainability Team at work which ensures that we preserve land around our company for the wildlife that normally inhabits it. It is a wonderful cause and it is so much fun! We have turkeys, deer and many other wildlife you can imagine running free on the wooded areas near our buildings.
I am leading the Eastern Bluebird Monitoring program. Eastern bluebirds are different than just a blue bird.  We have nest boxes set up around campus and we monitor the number of new baby bluebirds that are hatched in our boxes each year. Nature can be cruel but it can also be very rewarding to watch baby birds grown and fledge!

How awesome, right?!??!

Well, this week was extra exciting since someone walking on the trail spotted a bobcat! They immediately shut the trail down and PA Wildlife Team. I am not sure what went down but I do not think anyone else every saw the bobcat. But, just in case I have an issue with it some day when I am out there; I googled it. They say to slowly back away and make really loud noises. I have to be honest, as a cat person, it would be really hard for me not to run up and try to pet it! LOL! They are super cute!

I will keep you posted but I honestly think that person just saw a fat, feral cat! LOL - HA HA!  I have hiked and camped a lot throughout the years and have never encountered any wildlife that tried to harm me; I have never seen big cats, bears or anything that could be considered a predator!

Had to pop in and let the world know how blessed I am!!!

My birthday is this weekend (Sunday to be exact) and since I took a vacation day on Friday, my co-workers surprised me with a decorated cubicle today! How cute is this!?!?! LOVE IT!!

I was sooo excited when I walked into the office today - they made my whole week!!!

 And this is my awesome cake!! I may, or may not have, had a ginormous piece of this fudgy goodness for breakfast along with my spinach and beet shake!! LOL!!

 They even left me some amazingly awesome gifts!!!! Jenna got me the Buxom collection - she knows it my favorite lip glass on the planet! 

The Popcorn is from Sheila whom I have known and worked with forever (she worked with my father years ago too)!!! It is chocolate covered popcorn!!!!!!! YUM!!!!!!!!

And on a final adorable note:  My baby bluebirds at work are ready to fledge which means they will leaving the nest within the next few days!! :-(   

WOW!  Off to a good start - successfully fledged 5 baby birdies this year so far!! When they leave, I will go clean out the old nest and hopefully mom and dad will be ready to make 5 more!!!!!!!! I LOVE nature!!!

Here we go!!!!!!!

ONE: This is my quote from the "Why Do You Run" board at the Marathon Expo in Pittsburgh. Thinking on the fly...HA HA!

TWO:  This is my bib and medal and also car sticker! You know I stuck that on the car within 1 hour of crossing that finish line for the Marathon last weekend!!!

THREE: I was amazing last week at work! I usually do not ever see the lobby as I use the side steps to get to my floor of the office. This week I used the elevator (sore legs from the race) and realized that we have a Foosball Table in our Lobby!!! I foresee a lot of lunches down there!!!!!

FOUR:  Speaking of work...I have these little cuties in my bluebird box at work!!! Five babies about 3-4 days old!!! Sooo adorable!!!

FIVE:  Below is a shot of my patio from the parking lot! I love Spring/Summer/Fall and flowers and more flowers and more flowers!!! Can you tell??!

I AM A MARATHONER

Happy Wednesday yinz!! This is going to be a SERIOUS random post!

Below is my "cleaned-up" Marathoner picture!!  I got my co-worker to take my photo wearing my 2014 Pittsburgh Marathon Finishers medal!!! Whot!  I think I am going to milk the finishers thing for a long time!!! :-)

And this is a close-up of the bling!!!! Soooooooooo  worth it!! Yea!!!

 This is the field at work where my bluebird boxes are located! We participate in Wildlife Sustainability where I work and I have the pleasure of monitoring four bluebird nesting boxes!

I am happy to report - I had five eggs last week...this week I have five baby chicks!!!! YEA!!!!

The little bit of grossness pictured below was in my expensive salad from Panera yesterday!!! YUCK!! I NORMALLY love the fuji apple salad and got one for lunch. Apparently my Panera was out of RIPE tomatoes so they had these all throughout my salad - I think I picked out at least ten! They were hard and sour!! YUCK!!! Just leave them out next time for goodness sake Panera!!! Total grossness!!

Tonight I am going out to dinner downtown with two friends from work. We made reservations a month ago at Meat and Potatoes. It is supposed to be amazing! I am definitely getting the fried pickles and then not sure what else yet. The menu looks amazing! I promise to have photos!!!

Also, I am finally able to walk normal (still a little soreness but not much) after completing the marathon on Sunday so I am planning to go to HipHip tomorrow night (Thursday) for the first time in months literally!! I am sooooo excited!!! I will have pics from that too!

WOW!

WOW! Long time no post!

Work and life have been soooo busy and everytime I get a second; I realize that I have nothing to say! LOL

It has been raining non-stop here in Pittsburgh and I am soooo sick of it!!

However, I did get a new little patio grill and I will be using it tonight and will have photos from the patio picnic tomorrow - YEAH!!!

In the meantime, because of all the rain my flowers and plants look great also - I will get pictures of them tonight too!

Here is an update on my bluebirds at work...it stopped raining long enough to get a picture and check on them...

They are now 11 Days old.....

Stay away snakes!!!!!!!!!!!

We had a Be Well challenge at work and just for finding out your helathy numbers (ie: cholesterol, weight, etc.) you got a gift card. I selected mine for Target and just found the best use for it!!!
It has been horribly yucky and rainy and I am part of the Wildlife Sustainability Team at work. With this membership I am assigned a pair of bluebird boxes that I have to watch and report on. They are in the middle of a large field at work and here is my new purchase from Target....

Yeah!!! Purple rain boots - and soooooo cute!!! It was actually a little sunny today in Pgh (as you can see by our green green, grass we have gotten a lot of rain-LOL) so I wore them out to the center of the field to check my boxes and what did I find.....

Snakes and racoons - STAY AWAY IF YOU KNOW WHAT IT GOOD FOR YOU!!!!

Last year I had a different set of boxes and everytime I had eggs they would be eaten by a snake the next day...gone with nothing left but an empty nest-I hope to report happier endings this year with the new location)

Enough said on that - I will keep you posted!!!

Also, I was taking the day off from the gym yesterday but mom and I went shopping and dinner and she headed home by 5:30 so I had the rest of the night free....

Where did I end up???

You guessed it...spinning......

Here is my results - this teacher felt easier than the last and when it was over I was about 8 miles shorter than the last class....oh well, still great workout!!

And, now tonight will be my night off!!!
