Weekend Recap

What a nice, cozy, chillout weekend!

I did nothing urgent this weekend although I did a lot of cleaning!!

It was sooooooooooo nice to get the spring cleaning in full swing - I love love love a clean home!!!

It just smells soooooooooooo good now!!!

Here is a pic recap of what my doing nothing weekend looked like.

Below is Waliacha looking really proud and cute (I must say). This is Lucky my 16 year old cat that hates everyone!!! She has apparently now grown fonder of Waliacha than me....he is her new buddy and she now chooses to lay on him and not me :-(
Oh well, it is nice that SOMEONE likes him more than me!!! LOL

Here is a picture of my WAY healthy banana nut wheat muffins....

And here is the recipe...

2 cups whole wheat flour
1/4 cup wheat germ
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 1/2 cups mashed bananas
1/4 cup applesause
1/2 cup honey
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup smashed soy nuts

Grease a 9 x 5 inch loaf pan. Preheat oven to 350 degrees (175 degrees C).
Combine oil, honey, eggs, vanilla, and mashed bananas in a bowl.
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, wheat germ, salt, and baking soda. Make a well in dry ingredients, and add the banana mixture. Mix together until dry ingredients are moistened. Stir in nuts. Pour batter into prepared pan.
Bake 1 hour in preheated oven. Test for doneness, and cool on wire rack.

(I followed this recipe above but I poured into cupcakes and baked for about 15 min.)

YUMMMMMMMYYYYY!!!!!!!

Here is my new china cabinet with my china (Sweet Leilani) and crystal all loaded. I am still working on the organization of everything in it, but this is the jist! I love it sooooooo much!!! I was married like 15 years ago for a very brief 6 months and this china has remained in boxes ever since....It is soo nice to get it out and display it and have a little happiness from it!! The bottom shelf is all stuff that my mother or grandmother has passed down and a few collectables....my new favorite thing in the condo!

Note: my very few Cats Meows across the top!! I would love to get more but dont travel much - if any of my bloggy friends live near a place that sells them I would gladly pay you to pick me up a few from special places in your area......

I am stuck at work and it is sooooooo beautiful outside...like 84 degrees here in Pittsburgh, PA!!!



Tonight is date night so we will be walking the path (Waliacha and I) and then sitting on the porch and chillin'.



Sounds like fun to me!!!! Yeah!



Anyway - I will leave you with my favorite picture (as of lately) of my twin niece and nephew. When my sister was pregnant, everyone twin that approached her said "whatever you do, do NOT dress them alike!!!" Anyway, she never has and instead we switch their clothes for fun (well, I did) and I love this picture of Ryan and Alyssa!!!!! As if this is better than being dressed alike - LOL HA!

Ramen a Fav???

This is a picture of Waliacha's favorite dinnner. I have HATED these things since college!!!!! (Cooking in my dorm room in that mini crock pot with hardened noodles from the night before) icky icky icky - not good memories!!! :-p
I swear he would eat this every night if he had a choice. And he always eats them from this huge white plastic mixing bowl (not sure what that is about?!?!?!?).
Some days he adds meat (any kind of cooked meat will do) and other days he swirls a few eggs into the soup after it is heated up....
I say YUCK!!!!! But, I also say "WOW! Cheat dinner!!!" These are like 20 cents a piece at WallyWorld!!!
Anyway, he was all excited that I was having a salad for dinner and he could happily eat his soup (he specifically requested one beef packet and one shrimp) - not sure if this is an aquired taste but whatever!!! Easy and quick dinner!!!!!!!!!! LOL

WOW!! It's been an event filled week!
Got my new car on Friday (ABOVE)...Mom and Dad drove in from Ohio and helped me car shop. I found the new car at South Hills Honda - shout out to them and CJ my salesman as he was AMAZING as a salesman!!! If you are in the market for a new car and are thinking of a Honda (I love mine already) pleassssseee call CJ at South Hills Honda - he was great and nice and noooooooooooo pressure!!! I LOVE MY NEW CIVIC!!!
Also, shout out to Jason at Safelite Glass. Having only owned my new car for 20 hours, my windshield got hit with a rock!! Unbelievable I know!!!!!!!!! Anyway, Jason from Safelite came to my office this AM and fixed it - it looks great and he was sooooooo funny and nice!!!
Also, little update on "the man". We are trying to work things out - slowly being the key. I got home from the gym last night and he had made dinner (lasagna and salad)...I REALLY hope we can work together to make this work this time...I know he is sorry and he loves me and blah blah blah but there are no guarantees. Only time will tell...the hard part for me is the moving past and not constantly reminding him what an idiot he was...oh well, time will tell. It appears that for now he is reminding himself what an idiot he was. It is truly amazing to me to read back through this blog and see what I wrote...I am sooo glad that I did not delete this blog when the crap hit the fan - it is great to see the pain/growth/life and how I dealt with it in new and HEALTHY ways!!!!!!
My oldest niece is in Barbados this week with her dad zipping throught the forest trees and getting a REAL tan. I am soooo excited for her and can't wait till she gets back with pics.
Please keep Marge and her family in your prayers - I know she is not well although I have no update as her family is requesting that everyone stay distant for now. Prayers can never hurt though!

Halloween at Hunting Ridge

It's now official!!! It's almost Halloween!!!! Walt and I finally carved pumpkins last night...what fun that was! We each did a little one and a big one...obviously I was the judge and so I won the contest...pictures follow. We did have a minor (or major) bo-bo part way through when Walt did not know his own strength and broke the little green pumpkin carving knife (that he is using in the above pic) so he then proceeded to get a giant drywall saw to carve the pumpkins with!!!!
