Where Have I Been?

Wow guys!!! It has been a hot minute since I posted or even read blogs.

I had a little holiday melt down and needed a break.

I had every intention to blog each day of the cruise I took in mid-December but that ended up being a hot mess!!! I hated every second of it! UGH! That will be a whole post but I am sure you would not have liked to hear me griping and crying every day! It was that awful!!! UGH again!

Then I got home and Christmas hit like a ton of bricks. I was driving all over and trying to get things in order and then same issue for New Years.

After New Years, I got sick...yes, I got that horrible hacking cough for the next two weeks! It was the sickest I have felt in a LONG time!!!!

So here we are...back to work to finish out a few months before my site closes and I have to look for a new job. Fingers crossed that goes well when the time comes...

Also, I have started back to exercise! I re-joined barre classes near work and I am AGAIN obsessed!!!

So, today let me tell you how important I think it is to have supportive and motivational people around me....

I was attending barre at a studio about 6 years ago and I LOVED it!! I could not wait to go everyday!! Everyone was super supportive of each other and it was a bunch of women encouraging each other daily! Then the studio was purchased by two young women that turned it into a catty, awful place. I can not explain everything but the whole dynamic of the studio changed. If you were not part of their group then you were just money coming in the door and you were not treated like the "friends". I hit my 250 classes and no one even remembered. They are supposed to make a big deal out of it and they did not AT ALL. But, when their "friends" hit 250 you woudl have thought the Pope was attending class! HA HA! Anyway. I was paying WAY too much money to feel like I was second best.

So, fast forward to this year! A new studio was opening in Robinson Township near my work so I re-joined! I LOVE it again! YAY!!!! I am attending two classes each day if I can. This morning I did the 5:30AM Empower and then the 6:30 Classic. Then to Starbucks for my free January coffee and to work.

If you all have never heard of this cup I will let you in on the secret!

Every year for Christmas my sister gets me this mug from Starbucks.

In December, Starbucks sells their January Refill mug for $40. You can use it yourself of gift it. The owner gets an awesome metal travel mug and one free brewed coffee or tea refill everyday!!!! EVERYDAY FREE!!! It is amazing if you drink plain coffee or tea! I love mine and get my free cup everyday! SCORE! My sister rocks!!!!

Also, just an update for those that follow my blog...

The dog owners still habe their dog!!! We (the Condo Board) have sent two fines (each for 4500) and they are not abiding by the rules and getting rid of the dog so we are now waiting to hear from the lawyers. UGH UGH UGH!!!!! Hopefully they wil give us direction on what to do next.

Okay, well, I apologize for the quick disappearing act but I promise I am back. Now, I am off to find out what all of you have been up to. I have missed you ALL!!!!

HUGS!!

  2. We went on a cruise many years ago and it wasn’t fun for us either. We decided that we just aren’t “cruise” people. Thanks for the tip on the cup, I gave Starbucks gift cards to some for Christmas and would much rather have given the cup. Have a blessed day and thanks for paying me a visit. Hugs

    1. Oh no Julie!!! That crud thing sucks!!! It took forever to go away for me - I am finally feeling a little better but it was awful - sounds like everyone is getting it! UGH!!! Yes, I am so happy to be working out every morning again - i wake up and think "ugh-it is too early" but as soon as I get there I am happy about it! HA!

  5. That is so sad that you hated the cruise. We have always enjoyed the cruises we took. Now next year I sure would like a reminder about the Starbucks mug. That's so terrific! I hope you are feeling better now. Being sick during Christmas is sad.

    1. Thank you Nonnie!!! I am just not a cruise person I think. I enjoy solitude and there are way too many crowds and chair savers for me. I think it is enjoyable for families that have 20 people but not for me at all. HA! Have a great week!

  6. Goodness that sounded like a less than exciting hiatus. Welcome back and hope the new studio stays friendly. That is a deal with the Starbucks mug when you think how much one cup costs.

  7. I am sorry to learn your cruise was so awful and that the holidays were so stressful for you. I would love to hear about the cruise, especially which cruise line it was. That Starbucks mug is really special! Wishing you good luck with the job search. I seemed so far away before and now here it is, staring you in the face. Wow. Whatever company hires you will be thrilled they did!!

    2. Yes Terri! It is quickly approaching! Way too quickly! HA! The cruise was Royal Caribbean. I think my most un-favorite part was I paid for the week and got a balcony room figuring I was good to go and vacation was paid for. Then, before we even left, I got an email asking if I wanted unlimited drinks...need to pay more; want unlimited food options...need to pay more....once on the boat...want to play Bingo...need to pay more (to the tune of $60 for three games!!!! Yes!! $60 for three games) They nickle and dime you constantly to pay more! UGH! It would have been cheaper to stay on an island and pay for a hotel and meals! Have a great week!! HUGS

  14. Wow, you have had a busy month! Good to hear that you are getting back to living more healthy. Are the barre exercises something like the Fluidity Bar? I have one of those and I've been thinking about dragging it out and giving it another go since it's very low impact.

Those neighbors are ridiculous about the dog situation. Do they suppose ignoring it will make it go away?

It's good to hear from you and see that you are okay and doing well. Have a blessed week, Ann!

    1. Thank you Stacy! Yes, I am moving to healthy and I feel o much better already! I think it is like Fluidity....very ow impact and small movements. I love it!!! My dog neighbors are super crazy...we are sending a letter from an attorney that the fine is now doubled at $1000 and they ten more days to re-home the dog or we will file a civil suit so I am sure we will be going to court - they are simply a building annoyance! UGH!!! I am so happy to hear from you - I missed you blog buddies so much!!!! HUGS! Have a great week!
