Thanks for stopping by! I am a Pittsburgh girl - born and raised! I blog about my city, travel, weight loss, recovery, family, and life in general! I love the Steelers, coffee and my cats! I took a crappy job shutdown and turned it into a positive mid-life pivot - I am now attending nursing school - set to graduate in December 2022!!! Please make sure to comment and let me know you were here...I love making new friends!

Long time no see...
Long time no type...I took a little unexpected blog break due to my pity party for my car. I was very frustrated and had nothing positive to say for a few days so I took a break. I would rather keep my mouth shut than gripe and whine on my blog so now my pity party is over and I am back ! HA!
I am not going to get the dent banged out by insurance. I am saving the $500 deductible and taking the car to my brother in law when we go on vacation next month. He has a "dent guy" he is going to have look at it and then we will decide what to do with the lovely dent.
So, I am so behind with posts and those will all be coming as I play catch up this week!
For now my fourth of July consisted of a little of this...
A few of these with the family...
Little of this...
Some of this...
A LOT of this (by my family of course, not me!) HA!...I also have a great recipe to share with you in one of the posts...it is a great Sangria recipe straight from Italy!
A few of these in prep for the boat parade...
A shot of the finished product for the boat parade...theme Safari!
A little of this...chilling on floats in 100 degree weather...
a little of this also for the competitive nature in all of us...
And finally a little of this prior to the fireworks on the weekend!
I promise I will post and share everything!! Catch up posts will be coming all week!
I hope you all had a wonderful 4th!!!
Hugs!

Guys.... I am so sad!! I woke up this morning sick! My throat is killing me! I leave in two days for Florida...I can't be sick...p...
Oh, for me the blog is definitely used to gripe and whine as well. If people don't want to read it: just stop! Plus it gives me rest in my head about the things that matter, people may have a slightly different spin on what I whine about and that can make me feel a lot better!!
ReplyDeleteOkay Mara, you have now convinced me...HA! I will now gripe and whine too! You might be sorry - HA HA!
DeleteI love your blog so you must have something there - have a great day!
Gripes and whines are allowed, you know! That's what friends are for! Looks like some good times were had by all!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Terri! You are all so very sweet but you might be sorry if I start griping too much - HA!!! Yes, time spent with family really makes anything bad way better! HUGS
DeleteSounds like you have a lot of good things in your life but got wound up with the negative. You’re allowed to feel frustrated and you’re allowed to gripe, of course. Or not. Your choice.
ReplyDeleteI hope you can get the dent taken care of soon.
Thanks for the kindness!!! Yes, time spent with ones we love can make things better every time! HUGS
DeleteIt looked like you had an incredible Fourth. Feeling the need to whine and gripe are part of human nature and sometimes it helps to share so the "loop" doesn't continue to play in your head. I look forward to reading and seeing about your Fourth and your time away.
ReplyDeleteThanks Robin...you guys are so great for me! I promise next time I have a gripe I will air it here as so many have expressed it helps them to sort through the feelings. You all may be sorry - HA HA! Have a great day - HUGS
DeleteWhat a beautiful lake house and that setting and dock! Nice!! Just curious...what lake do you all go to? Is it in PA?
ReplyDeleteGlad you're getting things worked out with the car and that you're back to catch us up. I'll be disappearing next week until the beginning of August. Next Thursday is finally cruise time!
Thank you Stacy - it is a lake in Malvern, Ohio called Lake Mohawk. It is a small gated community my parents retired there. It is sooo beautiful! I can not wait until you return from your vacation! PLEASE share pictures GALORE!!! I can not wait to see your cruise! So excited for you! Stay safe and ENJOY!
DeleteI promise lots of pictures, but probably not till we get back. I didn't pay for a wi-fi package because I don't plan to sit around online when I can be out and doing! The only connection I want while we're gone is to hear (and hopefully see) our new granddaughter when she gets here on the 29th!
DeleteWe stayed home and were happy with that decision. Too many drunks out on the delta. We went the week before and the week after.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you have a plan on your car.
Have a fabulous day and week. ♥
You made a very smart decision I am sure. Thanks for reading and your kind words Sandee! HUGS
DeleteSorry about your car and looks like that you had an amazing Fourth.
ReplyDeleteThanks Patrick! I really did have a wonderful time! Have a great day!
DeleteGlad your bro in law can steer you in the right direction. Love the photos. The safari theme is grand.
ReplyDeleteThanks Nana! We loved the Safari this year...so much of the stuff we used we already had and did not have to sped a lot for the first time in a while...HA
DeleteThat looks like a holiday to remember! I'm so glad that you have such a wonderful, tight knit family.
ReplyDeleteSorry about that dent. I would be furious.
My family is really awesome and close...sometimes too close but I love them so much. I got very lucky in the family department. Have a great day Linda!!! HUGS
DeleteHope you are soon dent-less. Any time spent on the water is a perfect time.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely agree Patti!! Thanks for the kind words! Have a great day! HUGS
DeleteGlad to see you back. Sometimes we just need those pity party breaks to recharge
ReplyDeleteWithout a doubt Rebecca Jo! Now I can get back into my thankfulness! HUGS
DeleteGreat to see you :). I totally understand your pity party break, though. I like your plan of forgoing the insurance and going with bro-in-law's dent guy.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos from the 4th, looks wonderful!
Thanks Abby! Nice to hear from you too! Have a fantastic week! HUGS
DeleteLooks like you had a very nice 4th. Hope you get the dent fixed soon. Hugs
ReplyDeleteThanks Mags! HUGS
