Thankful Thursday

Happy Thursday!!!

It has been a very, very long week!!! And I think, next week will be even longer.

I have begun my countdown to vacation!!  Once I am about ten days away I get "ants in my pants" and those days crawl by until the day to leave.....UGH...

I am joining in with Rebecca Jo for her Thankful Thursday as always. If you want to join in the fun and gratitude....write up a post about what you are thankful for and click HERE to link up!!!

Today I am thankful for...

First and foremost God and my recovery!!!

Also, definitely family (I will be spending time with them soon - again, that countdown...ha!) and friends ("real life" and "blog world")

Very thankful that I have working heat in my condo. I know Rebecca Jo just spent her vacation money on a new heating system for her home (sorry Rebecca Jo but happy you are again warm and comfy) so I am grateful that mine is working daily ... so far.... (fingers crossed)

Thankful for the therapeutic sand box at my desk!! It stops me from freaking out about 7 times day! HA HA!

Thankful for my job too! I think I will include that in my posts every week until they drop the hatchet on me!

Thankful that vacation is only 7 days away at this point!  Next week, at this time, I will be on a plane to see my parents and my sister! We will spend time golfing, tanning, dancing and frolicking in The Villages! So excited for the nightly golf cart rides in PJ's to go buy ice cream and wine!! For real!!! HA HA!

I hope you all have a blessed and happy day!!!!

It's almost Friday!!!! Yippee!!!

What are you thankful for? Anyone else ever go in public in PJ's? What is your favorite treat on vacation? Anyone else living for an upcoming vacation?

  1. how exciting to count down to your well deserved time away!!!!
OK... I need one of those sand "keep your sanity" things :) I'd get totally lost in that during the day - no doubt!!!!
& GIRLLL - its on these horrible cold days - or awful heat days, you really do give thanks for the simple things of a home that keeps you comfortable. (even if it means sacrificing a vacay for another year)

  6. Eeeeee!, how I remember that excitement leading up to vacation! Fortunately, a year later I still feel I'm on vacation right here and retired. Soooo envious of your nightly excursions in PJ's -- someday, I'm hoping to gather for a girls' getaway; if so, THAT's definitely on the agenda.

  7. Great reasons to be thankful... You are so lucky to have a vacation to look forward to. No travel plans in my future. :( I'm a homebody so I don't mind it, but it feels like a really, really long time since I've been anywhere. sigh. lol

  13. It has been awhile since we were on vacation but it's all good. Our favorite thing is shopping and Joe loves to shop, probably more than I do! We search out all the outlets when we travel the interstates. The Villages are only two hours from Lakeland... if you wanted a day trip... Lakeland is a great place to visit! Enjoy the ice cream trips in your PJs.

  18. Thank you for the giggle about the "ants in the pants" about your vacation! I hope you have a fabulous time. We have gone through a hotel in our pjs to the restaurant/café for dessert. We had some interesting looks.

I returned from a stitching retreat and I consider that a mini vacation.

Today, I am thankful for the uneventful drive to an unfamiliar area that I had to do. Enjoy the rest of your week!

Have a great weekend!

  19. I'm thankful our summer is drawing to an end, although there are still a few hot days to come. I'm thankful that the ocean is only a short bus-then-train trip away, so I can go every day if want.

    1. WOW! I would be thankful for that as well! How lovely you can head straight to the ocean if it is too hot. Right now, it is winter here so I would thankful for the heat as well! HA HA! Have a great weekend!

  20. I once drove a friend to work in my pj's. As soon as I got back home, I hit the sack again! Not sure if that counts as 'in public'.

    1. That definitely counts as in public! Great risk taking...had you gotten a flat tire or run out of gas...imagine the surprise of those that stopped to help! Risk taking all the same - LoL! Have a great day Mara!

  21. A friend of mine here in New Hampshire has been without heat all week! Of course we have record breaking lows. Started at -6 this morning.
Our heating system died last July. It was out for 3 weeks while they put in a new one. At least we didn't need the heat. But, going without hotwater was terrible! I heated water on the stove so we could take baths. Very Little House on the Praire!

    1. WOWSA! I cannot imagine heating water on the stove for a bath...bathing would be a very LONG process! HA! At least you knew what to do in channeling your inner "Ma" - hee hee. I cannot imagine -6...I promise to quit complaining about 12 now! HA HA!
