Today I am linking up with Terri for her Wednesday Medley!!!!
Did you know it is National Oreo Cookie Day today?
-----------------------------------------------------------------
1. Are you able to pass by a plate of cookies and not take one or are you a bit of a 'Cookie Monster'? I can pass it by but if I give in and eat one then I have to have another...and another...and another! I have NO off switch!!! I recently tried the Mega Oreo's and ate the entire pack within two days!! Sad but true!!! They were amazing! It is two double stuffed Oreo's put together - serious yum!
2. Tell us about your favorite cookie. Have your tastes changed since you were a kid? My favorite cookie now would have to be white chocolate macadamia nut!!! They are so yummy!!! When I was a kid I loved fig newtons - still do a little but I prefer chocolate now!!! HA!
3. Enquiring minds want to know if you are a dunker and, if so, do you dunk in milk, coffee, or tea? Yuck to dunking cookies but I love to dunk biscotti!! My mother makes cranberry and almond biscotti around the holidays and LOVE to dunk them!
4.
It is that time of year and they are selling them on every corner and
in front of every store! Do you buy Girl Scout cookies and if you do,
which is your favorite? I did!!!!! My niece sells them!! Next year, I told her I am linking her sales on my blog so those that don't have a girl scout in their lives can order!!! Last year I purchased 6 boxes (2 samoas, 2 peanut butter tag a longs and 2 thin mints)! I ate them all!!!! So, this year I bought six and donated them to the troops! It was awesome - I supported my niece Madelyn and had no calories!!! Yay me!
5. Raw cookie dough. Yay or Nay? I still LOVE raw cookie dough!!!! I am willing to take "that chance" every time I bake cookies! You can now buy "safe raw cookie dough" in the refrigerated section at my grocery store!!!! WHAT!?!? Game changer!!! I have to cover my eyes and run past it since I am dieting! HA!
6. Please tell us something random about your week! I have hit my end point with snow!!! I thought it was done...there was none at all on the forecast for the next ten days. Then, sitting at my desk at work yesterday, I looked out the window after lunch and IT WAS SNOWING!!!! I am truly DONE!!!!
Also, I am officially an adult in my own eyes! After 20 years in recovery and putting my life back together...My credit rating ROCKS, I have a decent savings in my 401K (since I have no kids to take care of me when I am elderly-HA!) and I recently opened a brokerage account to house my stocks I bought with my employee share purchase plan! Yay me to living my best life - finally!!!! I may even just stay in the condo forever since I love my new floors THAT MUCH!!!!
Life is good...I am grateful and happy EXACTLY WHERE I AM!!! I wish this feeling for everyone!!! It feels so good!!
Have a beautiful Wednesday and if you have not tried them yet then today is the day....buy some MEGA OREO'S...you will NOT be disappointed and you will be celebrating to the max!!!
Have you tried Oreo's Mega? What is your favorite cookie? Have you ever had a "deep fried fair Oreo"? Are you content in your life? What would you like to change in your life?
My favorite cookie is a pizzelle, 2nd is thin mints, 3rd is Oreo's. Now having celiac I can have none. But I love to dunk my cookies and oreos and biscotti would be my fave to do so.
ReplyDeleteYeah to raw cookie dough. I have not died since a kid so to hell with it - go for it.
Am I content in my life you ask - no.
My life is not what I planned it to me when life sent us a huge curve ball. Doing the best we can and surviving, not thriving. But I am fortunate for everything else in my life so I shouldn't complain. Yeah to hump day Ann!
Pizzelles - I forgot about those!!! I agree about the dough - I have been eating it for 50 years and I am good!! HA HA! I am sorry abut the curve balls - that sucks but I am a true believer that everything happens for a reason for maybe there is a "happy ending" curve ball around the corner and on the way!! I am praying that that it the case!!! HUGS!! I hope you have a great week Margaret!
DeleteI did know it was National Oreo Cookie Day. It is fond memory of one the activities I did with my students in my classroom. Have you seen the dark chocolate Oreos (same Oreo cookie, but with dark chocolate cream filling)?
ReplyDeleteThat is awesome Robin! Fond memories are the best! I have not seen the dark chocolate but I am also not a dark chocolate fan so I probably scanned right by those - LOL! I am sure if it the only cookie available I woudl find a way to like it though! HA! Have a great day!
DeleteSo glad that life is good in your world. Sounds like you put in some hard work and now it's to reap some of the benefits. Have a wonderful week.
ReplyDeleteWell, no reaping yet - but back on track! I hope you have an amazing week also!! Hugs
DeleteWhite chocolate chip cookies would be my favourite. Although a simple bland 'Maria cookie' will do fine as well and I can finish a pack of those in an hour no problem. As I have given up chocolate for Lent (see how long that lasts), I might have to get the Marias in...
ReplyDeleteI have no idea what a Maria cookie is. I have given up all sweets so this is going to be a long 40 days! HA HA! Have a wonderful week Mara!
Deleteisnt it funny what makes you excited as an adult. Im' all about savings & 401K & smart financial choices. This adulting thing is all about goals to not work in the future :) haha
ReplyDeleteExactly!!! I will be horribly bummed if I can;t enjoy a little time without work in my life! HA HA! Fingers crossed - it all works out in the end! Hugs Rebecca Jo! Have a great week!
DeleteI have a big unopened box of Oreos from Costco. I plan to send them to my son in college, so I put them in his room so the hubs and I wouldn't open the box. Now you tell me it's Oreo day! Must refrain from The Box!
ReplyDeleteLoved your answer to question 6 :D
Do not touch the box!! I would feel awful if your son did not his treat because of my post!!! I am not indulging either but I am sure we can live vicariously through those that are!! HA HA! Have a great week!!!
DeleteI am at my end point with the snow as well.... as I sit here and see it snowing yet again today...ugh! Have a great Wednesday!
ReplyDeleteIt is here again too!! UGH UGH UGH! PLEASE send Spring! I need sunshine and flowers! Have a great "snowless" rest of your week Jodi!
DeleteSAFE raw dough? Thank you, God! :))) Love your GS cookie solution - win, win!
ReplyDeleteOf course, props for achieving your grown-up fiscal goals! I waited far too long, but at least I can serve as a bad example. LOL.
LOL! I did not have a choice as I am single - I told my nieces and nephews they need to have a raffle to decide who gets me - it got really silent so this is my only option! HA HA! Have a fantastic week!
DeleteYou have been wise to plan for your future. Cookies? oh yes, from dough to dip to eating a whole bag! Love Oreos in any shape or size and GS cookies have my name attached to each box! Happy Wednesday.
ReplyDeleteYou and me both...you and me both! HA HA! Have a wonderful week!! Hugs
DeleteHahah I just finished a post that said " I don't have a stop button" when it comes to sweets. hahah.
ReplyDeleteOreos? I can pass on those, they are not my favorite but I can sit and eat a whole back of shortbread cookies.
Lisa
Oh yes! I forgot about shortbread - I love those too!!! HA! Have a wonderful week Lisa!
DeleteI had not even heard of the Mega Oreos. Probably just as well.
ReplyDeleteYes, last year my hubby donated his purchased Girl Scout cookies to the troops as well. Brilliant marketing move on someone's part.
Yes, if you check them out and you like the filling...you will eat a lot!!! HA HA! It was hard to stop at one package! HA HA! That's awesome that you donated to the troops too - it is a great idea since they probably heard "I am on a diet" way too often for sales!!! Annster's Domain
DeleteKnow what's even better than Mega Oreos?
ReplyDeleteJapanese Mega Oreos with matcha (green tea) crème.
Really!?!?! I have never seen those here! That sounds amazing though! I love green tea and I really love my unsweetened iced tea with matcha powder!!! I will now begin the hunt for those here! HA! I will keep you posted...have a great day!
DeleteHmmm. Not finding Mega and I think the matcha crème filling were a limited edition.
DeleteBut we can look at a picture of the packaging and dream.

My step dad's mom used to make rock hard biscotti lol. She called them biscuits though. You had to dunk them or lose your teeth haha. They were great dunked in milk when I was a kid.
ReplyDeleteLOL! That is hilarious!! But I bet that is the reason that dunking started in the first place...back in the day, cookies probably got old and stale and they did not want to waste them by throwing them out - HA! I will have to look that up! Have a great day Julie!!! HUGS
DeleteI can't say that I have a favorite cookie, I like them all. I also do the same thing you do, once I start I can't stop and they are gone in no time.
ReplyDeleteGlad I am not the only one Ann! HA! Have a wonderful day! Thanks for coming by and reading!
DeleteIs there a cookie that one doesn't like? Not me. If there is sugar, flour, and eggs in it, I'm there!
ReplyDeleteI have to agree Maribeth...now that you mention it, there is not a single cookie I don't like - HA! Have a great day!
DeleteI love white macadamia nut cookies!!! So good, Subway has good ones. I never make those.
ReplyDeleteI am not a dunker either. Loved your answers! Have a nice day!
https://lorisbusylife.blogspot.com/
Thanks Lori! I agree - they are definitely my favorite and I love the ones from Subway - that may be the first one I had tried! Have a great day Lori!
DeleteCongratulations on getting closer to your financial goals. Twenty years of sobriety is AWESOME!
ReplyDeleteI try not to have cookies in the house, because I have the same problem with stopping as you do.
Thank you Kathy!!! I am LOL about your comment and I agree!!! If we don't buy them, we can't eat them!! Hugs - have a great day!
DeleteOkay.. I will look for mega-Oreos!! I really love them covered in chocolate, too! Yum! Congratulations on 20 years in recovery. You are awesome! Thanks so much for joining the Medley today! xoxox
ReplyDeleteThank you Terri! It feels good to know I am somewhat on track. You HAVE to try the mega Oreo's...you will love them if you like the cream middle!! Have a wonderful day!
DeleteDidn’t know it was Oreos Day, but maybe it’s why I had the urge to bake cookies😋 as I don’t do that often. We don’t keep packaged cookies in the pantry so these were a treat (buttersctotch with oatmeal). I’m able to restrain myself from eating cookie dough but not fresh baked cookies! Macadamia nut cookies with chocolate chips are great. Good for you on, Ann, on being happy with your life and your home and for your achievements.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your recent blog visits and comments as well. I appreciate and enjoy all.
Thank you Beatrice! Your butterscotch with oatmeal cookies sound delicious!!!! YUMMY! Have a wonderful day!!!
DeleteLove all of those answers!! Especially conversations with loved ones...so many people I miss so very much! Hugs and have a great day Jennifer!
