It has been a very, very long week!!! And I think, next week will be even longer.
I have begun my countdown to vacation!! Once I am about ten days away I get "ants in my pants" and those days crawl by until the day to leave.....UGH...
I am joining in with Rebecca Jo for her Thankful Thursday as always. If you want to join in the fun and gratitude....write up a post about what you are thankful for and click HERE to link up!!!
Today I am thankful for...
First and foremost God and my recovery!!!
Also, definitely family (I will be spending time with them soon - again, that countdown...ha!) and friends ("real life" and "blog world")
Very thankful that I have working heat in my condo. I know Rebecca Jo just spent her vacation money on a new heating system for her home (sorry Rebecca Jo but happy you are again warm and comfy) so I am grateful that mine is working daily ... so far.... (fingers crossed)
Thankful for the therapeutic sand box at my desk!! It stops me from freaking out about 7 times day! HA HA!
Thankful for my job too! I think I will include that in my posts every week until they drop the hatchet on me!
Thankful that vacation is only 7 days away at this point! Next week, at this time, I will be on a plane to see my parents and my sister! We will spend time golfing, tanning, dancing and frolicking in The Villages! So excited for the nightly golf cart rides in PJ's to go buy ice cream and wine!! For real!!! HA HA!
I hope you all have a blessed and happy day!!!!
It's almost Friday!!!! Yippee!!!
What are you thankful for? Anyone else ever go in public in PJ's? What is your favorite treat on vacation? Anyone else living for an upcoming vacation?
how exciting to count down to your well deserved time away!!!!
ReplyDeleteOK... I need one of those sand "keep your sanity" things :) I'd get totally lost in that during the day - no doubt!!!!
& GIRLLL - its on these horrible cold days - or awful heat days, you really do give thanks for the simple things of a home that keeps you comfortable. (even if it means sacrificing a vacay for another year)
Right Rebecca?!?! I love my zen sandbox!!! So sorry about the vacay sacrifice but I am happy that our family is finally warm again! Hugs!
DeleteYour sand strategy looks very intriguing to this gardening girl whose garden is under a foot of snow!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy that vacation! It will be here before you know it!
You should try it Michele - you woudl love it - it is very zen! HA! Thanks for the vacay well wishes! Have a great day!
DeleteVacations are always something wonderful to be thankful for. I know you're going to have a fabulous time.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful Thankful Thursday. ♥
Thank you Sandee! Yes, I am very thankful! Have a great day!
DeleteI love my positive blog friends who always lift my spirits. Hoping your vacation is one of rest and relaxation. I love that little sandbox....I may have to get one fr myself.
ReplyDeleteThank you Arlene!!! If you want to make your own version...just get a shoe box lid and the sand is sculpting kinetic sand from any craft store!! It is so fun to play with! Have a lovely day!
DeleteSo much to be thankful for. Wishing you a wonderful safe trip.
ReplyDeleteThank you so very much Debby!!! Have a wonderful day!!!!!!!
DeleteEeeeee!, how I remember that excitement leading up to vacation! Fortunately, a year later I still feel I'm on vacation right here and retired. Soooo envious of your nightly excursions in PJ's -- someday, I'm hoping to gather for a girls' getaway; if so, THAT's definitely on the agenda.
ReplyDeleteI am so jealous!!!! Enjoy that life that you worked so hard for...that is what I am aspiring to!!! Hugs! Have a lovely day!
DeleteGreat reasons to be thankful... You are so lucky to have a vacation to look forward to. No travel plans in my future. :( I'm a homebody so I don't mind it, but it feels like a really, really long time since I've been anywhere. sigh. lol
ReplyDeleteReally Jill!?! I am a homebody also but I definitely need my getaways...I am a wimp and get burned out on life quickly! HA HA! I feel like I have an explorer's heart...I need to explore and investigate other places! HA HA! Have a wonderful day!
DeleteHappy Thursday! Thanks for the thankful post :).
ReplyDeleteI love the photo of you ready to go out in PJ pants. Y'all look so serious!
LOL Abby! We were at the time! I needed ice cream and my sister needed wine! My Dad was giving us directions on mapquest to the grocery store via golfcart! HA! We were sure we would get lost! HA HA! Have a great day!
DeleteI wear a t shirt night gown to bed most day so I would not be going out in that lol.
ReplyDeleteLOL Julie! Now that woudl be really funny!!! Flying down the road on a golf cart could be dangerous in a t shirt gown - you would be flashing all the people you pass - HA HA!
DeleteI have never worn PJ's out. That is a cool sand box.
ReplyDeleteYou should try it sometime...best if you do it WITH someone and not alone. Alone may get you committed! HA HA!
DeleteOhhh so nice that you're going on a vacation soon! We want to go on one next year and take our older son on his first cruise! We can't wait because it's been since 2015 that we've been on vacation. Enjoy yourself!
ReplyDeleteThat woudl be wonderful Steph! I wen ton a few cruises years ago and they were truly spectacular! It is awesome to be on that "floating city"!!! I hope it happens - so excited for you!!! Have a great evening! Hugs
DeleteIt will be so good for you to spend time with your parents and sister have a wonderful time Im Thankful that we live in a beautiful part of the country and for family and friends
ReplyDeleteYes it will be awesome! I can hardly wait! It is so nice to be with family...I think it's the unconditional love thing - HA! They HAVE to put up with me! HA!
DeleteIt has been awhile since we were on vacation but it's all good. Our favorite thing is shopping and Joe loves to shop, probably more than I do! We search out all the outlets when we travel the interstates. The Villages are only two hours from Lakeland... if you wanted a day trip... Lakeland is a great place to visit! Enjoy the ice cream trips in your PJs.
ReplyDeleteVery cool Terri! It is amazing to me that everything is all accessible within a golf cart radius in The Villages! HA HA! Great to know if I need a an escape you are within 2 hours! Hee hee! My family loves to shop too - we could kill a whole evening in Target! HA! Have a great night!
DeleteThanks so much for stopping by!! I am very grateful that you took the time to do so!! Enjoy your vacation!!
ReplyDeleteHUgs.
Debbie
Thank you Debbie! Thank you as well - have a wonderful evening!
DeleteOh yes, I just love when vacation is so near I can practically taste it!! So many wonderful things to be thankful for.
ReplyDeleteAgreed!!! I am very blessed!!!! Have a wonderful evening!
DeleteTime right before vacation always drags and then the vacation itself is over before you know it.
ReplyDeleteI've got a long weekend coming up so I'm looking forward to that
Yay Ann! So happy for you! Long weekends are just as awesome as vacation and they use way less vacation time! Enjoy - I hope you have wonderful things planned or just a well needed recharge!! Have a great LONG weekend!
DeleteYes, that time before holidays does crawl very slowly. Maybe it is to make sure you appreciate it when the hols do begin.
ReplyDeleteI agree Andrew! It acts as a little reminder to be grateful every minute you are vacationing! It works too! Have a fantastic weekend!!
DeleteThank you for the giggle about the "ants in the pants" about your vacation! I hope you have a fabulous time. We have gone through a hotel in our pjs to the restaurant/café for dessert. We had some interesting looks.
ReplyDeleteI returned from a stitching retreat and I consider that a mini vacation.
Today, I am thankful for the uneventful drive to an unfamiliar area that I had to do. Enjoy the rest of your week!
Thank you Robin! That is fantastic that you strolled the hotel in PJ's!! We need to hang out!!! That is my kind of dessert adventure!!! LOL!!! I hope you stitching retreat was fun...it sounds like it was since you are considering it a vacation - that is awesome - I bet it was a fantastic break that included some learning and sharing too! Have a great weekend!
DeleteHooray!🌺
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend Cloudia!
DeleteI'm thankful our summer is drawing to an end, although there are still a few hot days to come. I'm thankful that the ocean is only a short bus-then-train trip away, so I can go every day if want.
ReplyDeleteWOW! I would be thankful for that as well! How lovely you can head straight to the ocean if it is too hot. Right now, it is winter here so I would thankful for the heat as well! HA HA! Have a great weekend!
DeleteI once drove a friend to work in my pj's. As soon as I got back home, I hit the sack again! Not sure if that counts as 'in public'.
ReplyDeleteThat definitely counts as in public! Great risk taking...had you gotten a flat tire or run out of gas...imagine the surprise of those that stopped to help! Risk taking all the same - LoL! Have a great day Mara!
Delete❤️
ReplyDeleteHave a fantastic day Regine!
DeleteA friend of mine here in New Hampshire has been without heat all week! Of course we have record breaking lows. Started at -6 this morning.
ReplyDeleteOur heating system died last July. It was out for 3 weeks while they put in a new one. At least we didn't need the heat. But, going without hotwater was terrible! I heated water on the stove so we could take baths. Very Little House on the Praire!
WOWSA! I cannot imagine heating water on the stove for a bath...bathing would be a very LONG process! HA! At least you knew what to do in channeling your inner "Ma" - hee hee. I cannot imagine -6...I promise to quit complaining about 12 now! HA HA!
DeleteI'm sure this week will pass very quickly. I hope you have a great vacation.
ReplyDeleteThank you Wendy! It is dragging but I am living for the end of the end right now! HA HA! Have a wonderful dayt!
DeleteDefinitely thankful for family. Ours live all over the U.S. and I'm always excited when I get to go visit them or they come to us! I usually check out of work mentally a few days before I should! :) Hope your week goes really fast!
ReplyDeleteIt is really hard not to check out early Cindy! I am on a project so that is helping me stay focused but I am ready to vacation yesterday! HA! Have a great week!
