Snapshots of the Weekend

Hi everyone! Welcome to my very random Weekend Update.

I had a weekend at home this weekend...so you know cleaning happened!!  I cleaned cat hair off furniture and beds...enough to make a whole new cat - HA HA!

Fun fun fun! 

I was supposed to meet a friend Saturday night for dinner and a meeting but she had to cancel. So, I got more cleaning and organizing done. I also swore I will not stay home another weekend this summer for ANY reason. 

I have to let you know...I get very frustrated with cancellations, especially on weekends! If you say you are going to do something or want to do something...follow through!!!!!

I have a fantastic family and I love to spend any time I have extra with them but I also try to make time with my friends. So, my family really wanted me to come to the lake again this weekend but I explained that I really wanted to check in and spend time with a close friend of mine that I have not been able to see lately. You see where this is headed? So, it is 95 degrees and I could be with my nieces and nephews and siblings and parents in the lake and instead I am stuck home with nothing to do after she cancelled on me for Saturday night by texting on Saturday morning. UGH! 

Okay...enough griping...but seriously people, this is why I don't stay home and hang with friends because they almost 50% of the time cancel and I have nothing to do!!!

So, I created some new pieces for my ETSY store...

And I played with kitties and boxes A LOT!!!!


And I cleaned out the fridge. FRIENDLY NOTE: When cleaning fridge; if you find a huge jar of expired capers, just throw them in the garbage jar and all! I dunped them down my disposal and this happened!! UGH! It was totally jammed up!!!!.

So I hit reset on the disposal and when that did not work I followed this YouTube video and unclogged it myself. Thank goodness. I was going to be really ticked off if I broke it forever because I did not want to carry a full jar to the trash!




Soooo gross....all fixed now!!!!

I also harvested some of my herbs from my patio! The pineapple sage, lemon thyme, sweet mint and curled parsley are all doing great but the basil was decimated by the japanese beetles! ICK and UGH! I am still in the middle of fighting the battle to save the second set of plants I planted but it does not look promising!

I had so much extra that I put out a little "free for the taking" stand at the front door of my condo...sharing is caring, right??!?! HA!



And lastly, I caught some Pokemen because that is what I do! This guy was chilling in my kitchen on Sunday! HA! I am still obsessed with the game and I love it even if it is childish! So there! HA!

Whirlwind weekend!!

Hi guys - Happy Monday to everyone out there! I hope you all had an amazing weekend!!

Mine was quite a whirlwind of a weekend! I had such a great time I do not know where to start!

On Friday night, my sister came in to town from the Harrisburg area and we both went up to my parents house at their lake. We got up early Saturday and it was already 80 degrees so we went directly out to the lake to swim and play! The new paddle board got a workout! We also inherited a flamingo we found floating in the middle of the lake - it had escaped from someone and we were very happy to give it a home with us! LOL!

 On Saturday afternoon, my little sister and her kids came up to the lake and we all went to the town my parents were born (Uhrichsville, OH) and raised for a big 50th birthday bash for myself and three of my cousins. We all turn 50 this summer (my birthday was May and the others are in June, July and August)!

My cousin Pat who is still from that area organized a huge birthday bash/family reunion for everyone!!! How nice, right? We all brought food, he ordered a pig to be roasted for the main dish and he even got a local band to play at night on the stage in the Uhrichsville Park! It was a great night!!

We had tons of food and fun and family and then went back to my parents house for some shut-eye. Me and Aly were all tucked in bed when our bed was crashed by a few others...LOL!

On Sunday we all went to church and then spent the rest of the day playing in the lake!

When I got home last night I was SO EXCITED to watch Big Brother and guess what??!? There were storms while I was away and my cable box was blown! UGH!!! I did not have any TV at all!!!

Oh well, it happens! I went to Xfinity today at lunch to get a replacement box and will plug it in  when I get home from work. I hope it is as simple as plugging it in and calling to have it activated - fingers crossed!!

Yeah it is Friday!!!!!!!

I am soooooooooo excited that it is Friday!

This weekend I have ABSOLUTELY nothing planned and this thrills me!

I think I may walk on the path and play outside for two days!!!!

What I know is I WILL NOT set an alarm!!! And I will not work - AT ALL!!!!

Yeah me!!!

On an icky note! I do not think I have ever mentioned this by I have psoriasis!

I was diagnosed years ago by a family doctor and he advised against any medical treatment (on a side note - he actually said that tanning controls it and the only treatment would be dangerous steriod shots). So, for four years I have justified my tanning as keeping my psoriasis in check and it has. However, lately that is not the case.

I have new patches all down both legs and this Easter my niece kept saying "why does Aunt Annie have all those bo bos"?

So, I decided that it is time to go to a dermitologist and check out my options.

Turns out, they have tons of treatments they can use these days that only involve mild steroid creams and coal tar mixtures. We are starting with one of these mixture creams and seeing if it will clear them up and we will try other things after a month if it does not help.

Well, it has been about a week and they already look soooooooooo much better - I think (knock on wood) that I will actually be able to wear shorts this summer without being totally paranoid!!!!!!! YEAH!!!!!!!!!!

I just have to walk around with bandages all down my legs so it is pants all month!!!!!!! LOL

If you or anyone you know has this, then you know it is horrible!!! It is sooo embarrasing and people look at you like you have some kind of horrible disease that is contagious and it is not. It is just ugly!!!!!! And icky!!!!!! And it never leaves you it just goes into a kind of remission and anytime there is skin trama another poatch starts (do you know how hard it is to shave your legs without nicking) LOL!!!!!!

Anyway hopefully (as mine is SO FAR only a moderate case) it will be gone soon and I can keep little patches in check from here!!!!

Also, stress makes it worse so I told Waliacha I should quit my job, stay home and have a baby!!!!! LOL
