Typical Marathon Training Day

As many of you know I am training for my first marathon which will be May 4th in Pittsburgh, PA.  I ran and completed the half last year and I cannot wait to run this and finish this summer!!! Training is going really well so far...each run gets easier and easier for now...soon when I get into the 10 and 15 mile runs I will not be saying this! HA

But so far so good and my Week 3 Day 1 run (not checked off yet) yesterday felt really good and easy so I am a happy girl right now.

I love my runs but I do not want to miss out on my fun classes (fav instructors) at the gym so I am trying a pretty crazy routine right now with packed full days.

Here it is right now for yesterday...

Monday
start work at 6AM, leave at 2PM
straight to gym for training run from work
chiropractor at 4PM
Zumba 5:30
BodyPump 6:30
Cardio HipHop 7:30

Thank Goodness today is an off day - no training at all!! My schedule is the same for Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday with the runs and three classes. I take off on Tuesday and Friday from all exercise and Sunday is three fun classes only and no runs. Pretty jam packed! I hope to keep it up until the runs get too long and I cannot do it any longer.

Here is a snapshot of my BodyMedia for the day...major calories burned, major steps completed but, as you can see below, I really need to work on the sleep thing!!!



It is issues at work that are keeping me up at night and they really need resolved or I need to leave - this is getting ridiculous...currently praying for guidance in that area of my life! Any prayers are also welcome!!!

What Was in My January Ipsy

 My January Ipsy was very disappointing...

I got this cute little bag except it smelled like mothballs. Very offputting...


I got these towelettes, they should come in handy at the gym...

This eye pencil is great! I love the color and it goes on very smooth!

This is facial oil. It says to wash your face and put it on. I will try this someday when my face seems really dry.

And dry shampoo...apparently everyone is using this stuff. It kind of is icky to me and makes me feel dirty to not wash my hair so I will give this to someone at work that will use it.


 That was my IPSY this month. Definitely not as good as usual :-(


What Was in My January Birchbox


 Here is the recap from my January Birchbox. I am actually kind of surprised to report that I liked it better than the Ipsy this month, I do not think that has EVER happened before. So - here it is...

I got this cute little head wrap from body armor...should work perfect for the marathon.


And this scented cream lotion...it was lavender

And this face super booster...

Also got this dry shampoo - I do not use these but gave it to s girl at work and she loves it!

And finally, mascara made with fruit...cant wait to try this one...

It has been a busy week at work and I have had to run to workouts every night so I have not been able to post at all this week.

I did miss posting but I have found time to read your posts strangely enough - LOL!!! Can't miss those!!

So, here it is ....my day in 5 emotiocons...LOL!!!! Get it?!?!  All I can say is TGIF!!!!



 I woke up happy as a lark - I made my final car payment today - I own my car!!!!!!!!!!

Quick and Easy Questions

1. What time did you go to bed last night? Last night was a late night for me. I am not even sure why but I could not sleep at all.  I think I laid down at 11PM and last time I saw the clock face it read a glaring 2:00AM!! YUCK!  Now that I am training for a marathon I am in bed by 9PM.  I have to get up at 5 and leave for work at 5:30. Then leave work and get my training run in and then head to the gym for my fun workout which is either Zumba or Hip hop - it makes for long days but I sleep well!!! HA

2. What is the last thing that made you smile? I watched Bridesmaids last night on tv and I just laugh through that whole movie every time I see it! Could not begin to count the smiles!

3. What is the last movie you watched? See #2 - hee hee

4. What did you have for breakfast today?  Smoothie with my bullet with Kale, Spinach, Carrots, Ginger, Frozen Strawberries, Help Seeds, Chia Seeds, Flax Seeds, Gogi Berries and Greek yogurt...yummy and healthy!!!!

5. Would you rather mop all of your floors or do laundry? I don't mind either to be honest. I love a clean home so I am obsessed with any and all cleaning!

6. Do you drink coffee? ABSOLUTELY!!!! All day everyday!!!! Could not live without it! I drink it black and as strong as possible!!!

7. Will you watch the Superbowl?  Nopper - unless the Steelers are in it there is no need~!~!

8. How often do you shop for groceries? About twice a week - enough to buy fresh veggies for my smoothies.

9. What kind of workout will you do today?  Today is a training run day so I will go to the chiroprator after work and then head to the gym to run 3 miles. Then off to BodyPump, Cardio HipHop and Zumba all in a row!! Three 1/2 hours today....wowsa!!!! Looks like a lot when it is written out!! I know most people would say do the run and that's it but I want to complete the marathon training correctly and I also do not want to miss my absolute favorite classes because of it!!! Oh well, I will fuel for energy!!!

10. Do you use a fitness tracker? I DO! I have a BodyMedia that I absolutely love. I can log all my food and it logs all my exercise and sleep! I had it for about 11 months and the button on the front broke through. I called the company and they replaced the entire unit! Free of charge! Sent me a whole new one!!! If you are thinking of getting one - I highly recommend them as they have amazing support!!!!!!!!

Marathon Training Day 3

Marathon Training Day 3...

Yesterday was a great day!

I love that I am training for the marathon but I do not want to miss my regular Zumba, HipHop and BodyPump classes because of it. My instructors all rock and the energy of the classes is amazing!!! I have had to modify my schedule instead...there will be no more TV in my future except on weekends - HA!!!

Here was yesterdays...

 5AM        Wake and get ready for work (pack breakfast and lunch, feed fur babies, pack gym bag with workout clothes)

5:30AM    Leave for work

6AM         Arrive at work

2:30          Leave work and stop at gym for five mile run

4:30         Home (eat dinner and get ready for Gym round 2)

5:00PM    Leave for Studiofit

5:30PM     BodyPump

6:30PM     Cardio HipHop

8:00PM     Home and shower

9:00PM     IN BED!!!!

According to my Body media all combined (Running, BodyPump and HipHop burned a total of over 2000 calories...needless to say I slept VERY WELL last night!!!!

Ha!!!  Today is a shorter run of three miles. I brought my gym bag to work early again and will stop on the way home and then decide if I will do other exercise or not tonight...I will see how I feel! hee

And finally this reflective bracelet...love these little reflective things they throw in each box (last month was a blinky light for your finger and the month before was reflective laces for your tennies!)



Today is Week ONE - Day THREE of marathon training which is a 5 mile run. I brought my gym bag to work today so I can stop at gym for the run on the way home. I am working from 6AM to 2PM then over to LAFitness to run at gym on a treadmill...home by 5PM.  Eat dinner and off to Body Pump at 6:30 and Zumba at 7:30...Long day but soooooooooo worth it!!!!!!!!!

Let the Torture Begin...


Welcome to DAY ONE of my new training program!!!  As you may know from reading my blog last year I completed the Pittsburgh half marathon!  I was so proud to be able to say I finished a 13.1 mile run!! So...in a moment of craziness...I have decided to run the full marathon this year.

Not sure what I was thinking except it is on my bucket list and I REALLY want to do this. I have downloaded a training program to follow this year.  I did not do this for the half.  I do a lot of cardio so I guess that helped but I figured for this distance I really need to do some training so I don't DIE!!! HA!!!!

So, here it is below...I am swapping the last two blocks as my marathon is Sunday so I will rest and then rest and then RUN 26.1 on Sunday!!!!  Whoop!! I am sooo exicted!!!  I also think that Tuesday, Friday and Sunday will quickly become my favorite days of the week!!!!

GROW UP


The Hump Day Blog Hop

Not even sure what to say today so I decided to participate in The Hump Day Blog Hop!

Yesterday sucked!!!

From work to personal to food to diet, etc.

I know - and yes - it was as bad as I made it sound.

Was sent an email accidentally (negativity about myself) which only made it all the better. Seriously, I did not even know that there are adults that behave like that!!!!!

I did great drinking my shake for breakfast but food went down hill from there ALL DAY~snuck a donut at work and then had pizza with co-workers for lunch and then had a hotdog and fries for dinner...BAD BAD BAD!

Plus, NO WORKOUT! I went out near Clarion to a viewing for a friend of mines son that passed away.  The whole drive home I thought about how I don't have kids and everyone else does...weird I know...but I was in this whole pity party funk for hours!!!!!!

So, never again!! Eating ON PLAN!!! From here on out and feeling better about myself already!!!! No matter what those peons at work think or say about me - I ROCK!!!!!!

5 on Friday

Time for Five on Friday!!!


Today I am going to give you my top five MUST HAVES in life!!!

One: Body Media - I have owned this gadget about 11 months now and it stays on everyday and night except to charge it.  It tells me how much I sleep and exercise and how active I am throughout the day and I track all my food intake through a program that is used with it. Well, recently it has slowly broked as you can see. It is under a year warranty and I called the company expecting a total runaround and pain in the neck time trying to get it fixed.  They had AMAZING customer support!!! They emailed me a form to print out - had me send the old one back (on my dollar but it was only $4 total) and they are shipping me a WHOLE NEW BODY MEDIA!!!! What gives!?!?!??!?! AWESOME!!! I am sooo excited!!! Thank you Body Media for keeping customer satisfaction at the top of your list!



TwoiPhone - I just love my phone!! I never thought I would be someone to say this but I use my phone for EVERYTHING!! Tracking my calories, mapping my runs, photos of loved ones, and time killing games!!!! Seriously, I left it at home one day and actually left work to go home and get it after about and hour because it was making me crazy that I did not have it!! HA!



Three:  Coffee - I LOVE LOVE LOVE coffee!!!! I do not drink, do not smoke and do not do any other drugs (except caffeine)...I cannot quit this!  I am not a snob that HAS to have Starbucks...I like any and all coffee! I have never met a coffee I did not like - from Kirkland's, to Starbucks to Folgers...I do not care - give me coffee pleasssssssse!!!!



Four:  Buxom - This is the most amazing lip gloss on the planet!!!! I have about three full size tubes and my friend just gave me a six pack for Christmas!!! I am officially obsessed!!! It tingles on your lips and it is so thick and lasts forever - if you have not tried it you should! Promise - you will love it!!!


Five: NutriBullet - My sister got me this for Christmas and I love it!!! I have been eating a shake for breakfast every morning...here is the variety I do each day.  Kale, Spinach, Carrots, Hemp seeds, Flax seeds, chia seeds, and goji berries always. Then 1/2 cup of any two of the following fruits (frozen pomegranate, mango, peach, berries, cherry, and pineapple). They are awesome!!!!

Quick Catch-Up (Christmas to Present)


First, let me begin by apologizing for the lack of posts throughout the past two weeks.  

I have spent lots of time with family and friends just drinking in memories and their presence and do not have many pics to show for it but I am going to catch you up by using the few pics I have posted to Facebook....and I mean few!!!

Here goes my catch up post!

I went to Mom and Dads with the rest of my siblings and their families.  I have no children so I especially enjoy the two or three days that I get to direct the elf...here is the first night...crazzzzzzy elf!!!! Swinging from candy canes!


And here is the night before Christmas morning when he was to leave.  He decided to host his own tea party as his final goodbye...what fun!!!

 This is the whole family together (minus one brother-in-law Steve) LOVE THIS!!!!


This is the day I got home from Mom and Dads.  A few days after Christmas.  I had to take the tree down. I get a real one and I usually put it up before Thanksgiving so it is really DEAD by the end of Christmas! HA HA 

I got this awesome toy from my sister for Christmas!!! LOVE IT!!! I have been eating a smootie everyday for breakfast!!! YUMMY stuff like Kale, Chia, Hemp, Flax, Spinach, Frozen Pineapple, Frozen berries, frozen mango and/or Frozen Pomegranate - YUMMY!!!!! This is pre-grind!

And this is post grind! Promise...it tastes wayyyy better than it looks!!! Note: I HAVE LEARNED THAT YOU SHOULD ADD FROZEN OR FRESH PINEAPPLE TO EVERY SHAKE IF YOU LIKE THE TASTE OF IT.  FOR SOME REASON PINEAPPLE KILLS THE TASTE AND BITTERNESS OF ANYTHING ELSE YOU ADD LIKE KALE, ETC. try it^!


 This is a new pizza place that opened near me.  It has been a legend a few towns away and they just expanded and opened one by me! AMAZING!!! Thank goodness for those shakes!


I was at the Post Office two days ago and was FLOORED by this.....really?!?!?!...already?!?!?!?  Thanks for the reminder that I need to find one!


And, just to end on a high note, this is what we woke up to in Pittsburgh today!!! Of what fun! A few inches of snow and 8 degrees (and that is without the wind). I AM READY FOR A BEACH VACATION! HA!! Oh how I wish I were rich sometimes!!!!!!


Oh and PS - I do not drink and was not feeling social this year so I did nothing for New Years except hang out with myself and watch the ball drop on Dick Clark's Rocking New Year Eve party! HA HA

Definitely cannot complain about this two day work week!!! HA HA!~
